I didn't write a review before this because I don't know enough about HVAC to tell if what we were charged last year ( $4200 to replace a coil) was an appropriate amount. The guys did work in a hot attic for about 5 hours but now I"m seeing estimates online for $200-$1200.
Just recently, our emergency light came on. I turned it to "norm" but it stayed on. So, I called Precision. The rep came out and told me we need a new thermostat which would cost $200-$400. I knew I could get one around $30 at Home Depot, so opted out.
Then someone came over and flipped the switch to 'norm' again and the light went off and stayed off. 3 days later, I noticed the AC wasn't working.
Rather than call Precision again, I made an appt with Choates. While waiting, I called a handyman who told me to go outside and check the breaker next to the compressor unit. Sure enough, it was off. I turned it on, the AC came on, and everything is working fine.
Precision would have sold me a $400 thermostat we don't need then would have gone outside and flipped the switch to 'on' after they installed it.

Precision Air spent HOURS & HOURS in our VERY HOT attic cleaning, repairing, redirecting air flow to gain efficiency of our cooling system. The workers had to crawl into our attic through the only small door allowing entrance while working in such cramped spaces that my wife & I asked if they did not wish to come another day! We now have the flow of air from the Efficiency the two Air Conditioners now have! We will ALWAYS call them! Carol & Greer Richardson

Larry and his crew installed new mini splits into our flat roof house and they are the best! We had lots of trades in and out of our house as we remodeled and these guys were the only ones who knew anything about how to treat a customer. Larry also helped us with many suggestions and problems that went outside of his scope of work. As long as I'm in Memphis, this is the ONLY HVAC company I will use from now on.

From meeting Justin for the quote and Larry helping with an emergency ac issue to the techs installing and keeping the house clean, i am very pleased with Precision Air. Always got a call when to expect teams arrival. i would hire them again and they are my #1 referral to friends.

Mark and Precision Air did a fantastic job helping me with a new furnace and water heater installation. Mark went out of his way to serve us and inform us of the work being done. Highly recommend this group.

The quality control at this company is unmatched. The quality and consistency of the employees and their service is exceptional. Not to mention, there is no up-selling of services, which is rare in this business. Precision is always my first call for HVAC repair and service needs.

Seems like a OK company all and all. However, the goal is to sell you something regardless if you need it. The owner seems legitimate, but their tech are clearly unskilled in trouble shooting. I originally hired them to trouble shoot possible air leaks in the returns. I also had them service the units. They found nothing wrong. I hired them because they claim to do blower door test, so I assume that had the tools to do pressure differential test to identify what runs and the volume of leaks. I was wrong. Although these tool are not required to identify some of these large leaks.

Now that is has cooled I’ve been doing some searching and easily found a 18x18 loose fitting that had well over 1.5 inch gaps in multiple area. In addition to other returns with easily identifiable gaps.

Both plenum boxes were leaking like a massively to the point you could see insulation moving on the supply side.

Of course they wanted to put my home on a maintenance plan and sell accessories rather than deal with the issues or actually take the time to find the issues.

To end, this company may be good at selling installing new units. Trouble shooting and servicing existing units is not in their skill sets.

My air conditioners both went down Memorial Day Weekend. I called Precision AC & Heating at 7;00 pm Saturday. At 7:15 pm I was talking to the owner of Precision AC & Heating. My appointment was scheduled for the next day. The Precision AC & H tech showed up on time and got the units running in no time. From the prompt response from the owner to the tech shop professional job, I was impressed with Precision AC & H. Highly recommend to anyone needed AC or Heating work.

Hunter was extra professional, worked above and beyond explaining all the details of the condition of my air conditioning unit. Last year Doug also did a super job too, but on my heating unit. I would highly recommend Precision Air Conditioning and Heating to any other family that wants the best of the best.

I had a very positive experience with Precision. When they came to diagnose an issue, they explained it to me in a way that was easy to understand for someone not in the industry, and they were incredibly quick in coming up with a solution. A crew was at my house in a matter of days to fix the problem. I would most certainly use Precision again.

I would not call again. I'm sure this company has many long time fans, but as a 2nd time repeat customer, something just doesn't sit right. I am a root cause analyst by trade, and the stories of what was wrong last year, what's wrong now...

I was told I had a leak and the outdoor unit could be replaced for $6500. I wish I'd googled "detecting an HVAC system leak" prior to paying $500 for a tank of Freon that lasted one week.

I will be purchasing my own leak detection equipment and finding the leak myself. Then I'll call a different professional for the repair.

This guy eye-balls everything, and does a lot of fast talking. There's no way I should throw away an entire unit without first attempting to fix the leak. He's in it for the next take, not to be of great service to your equipment.

This is the BEST company in Memphis!!!. unbelievable service and nicest folks ever. my master bedroom air-con went out at 8 am on a saturday, i called them at 9 am, and they called me back within 5 minutes, and the air-con was repaired by 11 am - same day. Then Justin said "it was a pleasure, no charge". amazing. i would recommend this company to everyone.

We purchased a new Daikin Fit unit to replace our 5 ton unit. We chose to do a split unit and replace the old pack unit. Was the best decision we made. Our utility bill has been cut in half. We are getting ready to update our second unit next week. Great team to work with and great warranty on their products.

My wife and I were experiencing some uneven heating in our two story house on the Island and could tell it was time for a serious overhaul. We went with Precision based on the reviews. Over the years we've called some other companies to fix some random things. However, these guys exceeded our expectations by far.

After calling, we were given a work order for the next day. From the get go, Justin (one of their mechanical engineers) was able to give us an accurate assessment of our problem. However, he also discovered a hairline crack in our heating chamber, which was a curveball we didn't expect. Despite this, he was able to come up with straightforward solutions and provided several different options to meet our budget. They explained the problem to the third party company who came out to check out the cracked heating chamber. They even made calls to the manufacturer to ensure that the third party folks got the parts without delay. We've heard stories of home warranty contractors taking several weeks to complete their jobs, so this was much appreciated.

Their guys were efficient and done within 2 days. They provided us space heaters to keep warm (as our unit was "condemned"), and picked them up themselves. Amanda, at the office, was always a phone call away. They were very professional, and all in all, we could not have asked for a better experience while dealing with a stressful heating situation. We will be calling these guys with our next home.

I had a major problems with my duct-work that ran through the slab foundation of my house & had no idea how to correct it. Thanks a lot to all of the builders who like to run 1st floor ducts through the slab foundation (heavy sarcasm).

Larry (owner) and Justin (sales engineer) were extremely knowledgeable and creative in figuring out a solution to run ducts to the first floor from our 3rd story finished out attic. This wasn't replacing existing ducts; it was running ducts where there previously were none, using extremely limited space since there was not a real attic!! All in all, this was a 2 week project. So much work! I felt bad for the guys squeezing into such small areas. Somehow they manged to do all of this without any significant impact to the cosmetics of the rooms. Our 1st floor air flow is MUCH better...not to mention cleaner since air is no longer coming from broken-down, in-slab duct work. Their technicians laid down red carpet (yes, pretty awesome) everywhere they needed to walk in order to keep carpets clean while they worked. The always picked up after themselves when they were done for the day and even vacuumed. The small attic space we have looks fantastic now since they rearranged the 2 furnaces so you can easily get to everything. I used to have to crawl through some pipes just to change an air filter! I'm glad I trusted them when they said they do this kind of work all the time. They proved that it wasn't their first rodeo. It was the first time my wife and I actually relaxed during a big job. This team is very detail oriented, so I didn't feel like I needed to be the "follow-up" guy. Larry was on-site frequently to oversee the project...which is a huge plus in my book. Oh, and their carpenter person does amazing work!!

There are several good companies to choose from for basic HVAC needs (I've used several), but Precision is an easy choice when it comes to very "involved" projects. They really know what they're doing. They went above and beyond my expectations and even fixed/repaired things unrelated to the main job so that the entire system ran efficiently. You get what you pay for in life. They charged a fair price for a major renovation and did an excellent job. I highly recommend the team at Precision and am happy to promote them! Thanks guys.

I would not recommend using Precision. I had a new AC/Furnace put in years ago. It was not installed properly and kept having leaks. The owners tried to inform me it was my fault for not cleaning a brand new unit. Needless to say, it was the product so they did eventually fix the issue. The downside is years later I still have a rust stain on my roof (which was new at the time).

The installation also failed inspection, and I had to continue to follow up to ensure we were able to pass.

Awesome Service & Quick Solution! I had an issue with my Goodman Furnace and called Precision. This happened on a Saturday and they were out there within two hours with a solution. I would highly recommend these folks for your HVAC needs.

During the depths of our cold weather, our heating system malfunctioned. Amanda, who is always helpful and responsive, was able to dispatch a technician to us within hours when we thought it would be days! Doug slogged through the snow after getting stuck and arrived on time. He diagnosed our system malfunction and was able to arrange a "work-around" so that we could have heat until a part could be procured and installed several days later. He was very thorough and explained matters in details that we could understand. Many thanks to Doug and Amanda! This is a good company and I recommend them to anyone who needs HVAC work done.

We reached out to Precision Air after multiple negative experiences with 2 other big HVAC companies in Memphis for our new hot water heater install. The team at Precision is exceptionally professional — they arrived on time, with the correct equipment and knowledge of the job that was to be done (this was not the case with another company in town).

I was so impressed by Precision! They came within hours of my call and had an entire new AC system installed by the next day. They filled my failing AC with freon for free to see me through the night until the system could be replaced. The employees were courteous and friendly. Their pricing was better than I was quoted by another company as well. I will be referring them to my friends and will use them again if we have any AC or heating needs.

Precision did an amazing job installing my entire heating and cooling system!!
