Ed went out of his way to respond to us after hours after a lightening strike hit and knocked out our HVAC. He came by the next morning and quickly solved the problem. He was friendly and knowledgeable. Will use him in the future if needed.

Heat went out and called on. Saturday morning. They came out within a few hours only to miss the supply store hours (despite having two full hours before they closed to get a part). Pushing our repair two full days to Monday. Turned out they were wrong about what the problem was and still charged a $125 service visit charge for a 10 minute visit. I won’t use them again.

Came within the hour of finding out AC wasn’t running at large historical landmark sorority house. Wonderful and prompt service for a great price. Changed capacitor and had on hand. Highly recommend!

The beginning of an anticipated record Texas summer. Our A/C seems to be working 24/7 to maintain temperatures… then it can’t keep up anymore. I’m a “prosumer” so I look for condensation, filters, clogged drains, outdoor fans not spinning… everything looks great. I called Ideal AirCare and based on the fact that our house wasn’t in dire need (second A/C unit was working) they came out the next day. Joey arrived and was polite, focused on cleanliness with those fabric booties and did a thorough check of the internal HVAC before clearing it and proceeding outside. He quickly identified that the capacitor was bad and went to his truck to retrieve a new one — so glad he brought a supply with him! He recognized that I was hanging around and that I liked to learn, so he explained everything he was testing and fixing. The A/C was quickly cooling again, but Joey gave a few extra minutes to explain how I can extend the life of the capacitors and filters (and which Amazon copies to watch out for). Like I said, I’m a “prosumer” but I’d never gotten this advice before, and it will likely mean we won’t need to call Ideal again for a while — and they’re okay with that!

Ed and team from Ideal Aircare are the best! I had an AC emergency, and they came right away late on a Friday afternoon, diagnosed the problem within 5 minutes, fixed it by replacing a part, gave me some knowledge, and saved my weekend!

Ed was responsive and helpful. I like how he took his time, was generous with technical info, not a hard seller. He is obviously a knowledgeable tradesman. And a damn nice guy. Do recommend/ would hire again!

5 years ago I called Ideal Air Care in desperation. It was August, had family visiting from out of state and it was Saturday 5pm. Ed made a special trip out right then to try and eliminate my AC aggravation. He was able to temporarily patch it, then worked on a heatpump/AC plan and recommendations to move thermostat and increase airflow into AC. The new system saved us $$ every month since in electric costs. Multiple times since he has worked with me to improve our AC life, even got us setup with a wifi thermostat so we can control from anywhere and setup and heating cooling schedules online. During the virus scare we called again and they found a solution with a Plasma Ion Unit that fit right in our AC blower!

UPDATE: JULY 2021 > came home from work and AC was out, and again they worked to provide a solution trying several things while the under warranty blower was being shipped to arrive next day. Joey the AC Tech had the patience to work while I cleaned out all the built-up grime inside the blower housing. This was a releif. They are no dought THE go-to guys for all things AC and Heat related for our family.

Ideal AirCare was my second opinion call. The first told me the reversing valve on my heat pump was dead and needed to be replaced, then pressured me to replace the entire heat pump for 4K because it would "make more sense." In contrast, Ideal's technicians let me hover around them as they worked and answered all my annoying layman questions. They diagnosed my Nest thermostat as the real culprit. They replaced it and it was as simple as that. I am truly grateful we made that second opinion call. Whenever our A/C DOES need a replacement, I have no doubt about which company we will be calling!

This is my AC company for life. my AC was going out and Ed (the owner) beat my other quotes significantly, installed next business day and even showed up during the install to make sure It was done right and we were happy. Will be using them for all servicing and help going forward

Ideal AirCare has provided service to us two times. Ed is very responsive, very polite, gives great & prompt service. Especially appreciated getting A/C cooling again with sweltering weather.

So grateful to Ed at Ideal AirCare! I requested a quote online last night. He called me today, pretty much diagnosing the problem over the phone. He said they would be in the area and could check it out today. My husband and I were both at work, but asked if he could go in through our keyless entry, which he agreed. I walked in after work and my house was cool for the first time in weeks! Great experience, easy, to-the-point, and under $200 in our case.

The best AC repair company in Austin. Very honest, reliable and professional. Twice I have used them over the years, both during 100+ temp days, they were able to get their tech in same day. First time a different AC company (also with 5* on yelp) came, did a few diagnostics and told me I needed to replace the compressor, and give me a $4k+ quote. The AC unit is 7 years old and compressor still under warranty. I called in Idealcare for a 2nd opinion. The tech came and within 5 minutes he tested and found out the compressor was perfectly fine. Found an electrical issue on the board. Fixed it in an hour with a $150 bill. He also checked all parts of the unit, and tightened a loose plate that could be a short circuit hazard. Beware. Most AC repair companies in Austin play this game. They make you replace a working unit with a new one, charge you a thousand $ in install, then they turn around and sell the old unit to someone else. If an AC guy tells you, you need a new unit, give Idealcare a call for a 2nd opinion. Their service call is $85, so if you do indeed need a new unit, you can atleast be sure of it. The owner Ed is an upstanding guy and I hope he stays in the business so I have someone to call any time I have an AC issue.

AC went out on a Friday leading into another 100+ degree weekend. Ideal Aircare was out at our house exactly when they said they would be and they were very professional. We were back up and running in less than 30 minutes with a simple fix. What a great experience.

I had called five companies ed answered right away and was able to answer most of my questions on the phone. When he arrived 30 minutes later, he was able to. Diagnose my problem of a leaky coil and get the old unit working until the new unit could arrive. No hidden fees up front reliable will definitely pass their information along to others.
