Anthony is very knowledgeable about ac units and gave us a lot of info about our unit. He checked out our ac system and added coolant to our system. We enjoyed meeting him. Everyone at Totally Cool is so nice and helpful, and we are so glad we can depend on them.

Our AC stopped working, totally Cool came out the same day, diagnosed the problem. They made an attempt to reset the hipressure valve to try and fix the issue at a low cost. The reset didn’t hold and they needed to replace the outside fan. They were back the very next day and fixed everything. AC works great. Really appreciate a company that offers and tries a lower cost alternative rather than just going straight to replacement. The bill came in cheaper than expected and was extremely fair. Great experience over all and will be a repeat customer.

tl;dr: Totally Cool will save you money and is HONEST.

Totally Cool saved me 10k. This is not an exaggeration. Jeff spent time figuring out the issue, found multiple mistakes with my original installation and actually FIXED my AC with adding more coolant. I now have cooler air than ever before. Mostly, I appreciate Jeff's professionalism and willingness to explain what was going on.

My experience with two OTHER companies:
1) You'll deal with a callcenter that is not local
2) Spent under 10 minutes "diagnosing" my issue, which was incorrect
3) Upsold me on a whole new AC unit; literally had a salesperson on the phone
4) Was told a replacement part was not under warranty and would take over a month to arrive. This was NOT TRUE; Jeff confirmed the part (which I don't need) was actually under warranty
5) Neither company followed-up on the cheaper option of replacing the part (again, don't need) which they inflated by thousands of dollars to make the AC unit seem like a "bargain"

Be wary and know that most other companies are taking advantage of your desperation.

Questions to ask: Does it sound like a script? Are they immediately trying to sell you a new unit?

Most of all, call Totally Cool and save yourself days without AC, thousands of dollars, and a headache!!!

Totally Cool Heating and Air did a complete weatherization on my home. They were prompt,professional and respectful of my property and to me. They did an excellent job and I highly recommend them. Shelley was helpful and handled my business in a timely manner.

Totally Cool came by today to install exhaust vents for my bathrooms and microwave that had been neglected. Was buried in insulation and rough to find, but they did a great job and explained the process and hurdles to me as they went. Would definitely recommend

I chose these guys over 3 other AC companies because they were the cheapest and Mark explained the different options and prices without trying to up sell. He was very flexible with me wanting to get a heat pump hybrid system and even recommended installing another register in a room that gets a hot spot. He was not a high pressure salesman with fancy brochures and high prices. Other bids were asking 3-4 thousand more dollars. Shelley works in the office and was extremely good about communication and was polite. Anthony has been in the business for 16 years and was very knowledgeable and nice. He did the final walk through with me.

Was absolute floored by Totally Cool's level of service. Shelley was quick to respond every time I reached out and always very helpful in her responses - she made the scheduling, payment, and rebate a breeze. Mark was beyond knowledgeable and took his time to figure out a game-plan that would be best for the house as it was built in 1972 and needed a complete gut of existing, relocation, and install of new system. Mark also never stopped checking in on the project from start to finish - he ensured it was being installed accurately and professionally by his team. The class didn't stop there as the entire installation crew was always on time and professional. My gf and I both work from home and they were as polite as possible and so respectful. I collected four quotes for this project and Totally cool was very competitive and fair with their pricing. Will personally recommend this company to anybody in the market.

Once again, Totally Cool responded quickly to my call for help in 100 degree weather! Shelly sent Anthony M out and he knew exactly how to troubleshoot my aging AC unit at a very reasonable price and my house is cool and comfortable now! I am so thankful and feel like their honesty and reliability is bar-none.

(previous post and 4 stars) Totally Cool cane out in 2020 to weatherize my house and thank god they did because the following year we had SnowVID and I like to think that what they did was like a warm blanket. :)

I mainly wanted to talk about how Shelly is the perfect example of superior customer service. The smart thermostat (Sensi) that the City of Austin suggested they install ended up failing in the hottest part of 2022 and they responded very quickly to save the day.

Solutions are their strong suit and quality is a top priority and I appreciate it! I’m happy to call them my HVAC contractor from here on out!

Totally Cool took good care of us through the process of putting in a new AC and furnace. Mark was straight forward about the options, pricing and timeframe. Their pricing was very reasonable allowing us to choose a two stage system inside and out. We had them insulate and seal up cracks, taking advantage of the city rebate program. They took care of dealing with the city and Austin Energy. Their crews were professional and courteous and they followed up during the whole process making sure everything was right. We are very happy that we made the decision to upgrade our unit with Totally Cool. The new system is so much quieter and cools the house more evenly. Tom Fleshman

I'm very happy I went with Totally Cool to replace my AC unit. I did my research and knew what I wanted and the expected cost. They were very knowledgeable, friendly, and answered all my questions. Almost two decades ago we purchased a new AC unit from this company. We needed a maintenance check on this system so it was good to know they were still in business.

This company has great inventory - needed equipment + supplies for on the job sites. Jeff was the technician who showed up. He gave us a through explanation of what was going on with our system - what the job covered + guarantees/warranties, etc. Jeff was very knowledgeable, experienced + did quality work.

I learned about this heating, ventilating, and air conditioning company through the City of Austin’s weatherization program. I regret that I did not know about them sooner! I used this business to perform the weatherization needed to bring my home up to code and to install a new energy efficient HVAC system. This was a large amount of work on an older Austin home. Their bid was competitive. And the crew that did the work was exceptional. They coordinated with me and kept me well informed throughout the project. I love that this is a locally owned, family business that takes a great deal of pride in the quality of their work. I highly recommend them and will be using them in the future for maintenance.

Shelley and the guys went above and beyond to get us serviced, tested and replaced with a new Bryant unit. They fit us in on a tight schedule and modified drain lines and tested system. There were 5 guys here all day and allowed me to watch and learn all about the install. But the first reason I chose them was Shelley. My first call to others would be just a dispatch person but when I called Shelley she took control, assessed my unit with my repair guy and they worked together to find the right unit. She walked me thru every aspect of the paperwork and completed all the paperwork for rebates etc. Shelley was amazing. The guys were super helpful all day as well. I've referred them to everyone I've told about our project.

We just purchased two AC units and thermostats from Totally Cool. They came highly recommended and they did not disappoint! Their service from the service call with Jeff through installation with the rest of the crew was outstanding. We had questions about the units, etc. and Shelly was great to work with too. Anthony (owner) personally came out after hours when our home’s AC unit went out on the HOTTEST DAY ALL YEAR in 2024. Our unit is only 3 years old but had blown a capacitor due to buildup of residue over the outside coils. Anthony quickly addressed this and had us back up and running just an hour after he arrived. He also took the time to show me how to care for the unit and perform routine maintenance myself to avoid this problem in the future. He stuck around to ensure our house was cooling appropriately and he gave us a fair and honest rate for the service despite being short notice and after hours. These guys should be your first call if you have AC issues!
