Our experience with Alex who was doing a routine maintenance check was excellent. He gave us plenty of notice before he arrived and called me, the homeowner, afterwards to report his findings and answer my questions. My daughter who lives in the house said that he was very nice and efficient.

ABA Heating and Cooling saved me by responding to a weekend call when I was baking in an 88 degree house. They are a trustworthy company who gave me a fair price on a new unit when I needed it. Their technicians were very nice and did a great job on an install. They cleaned up afterwards and helped me through the setup of connecting my thermostat to my phone. I couldn't be happier. Skip the other Big name AC companies who will try to charge you twice as much to make a profit. ABA is exceptional.

I had my evaporator coils replaced today. The techs arrived when expected and did the 4.5 hr job very efficiently. They were professional and polite and respected my home and property. Thanks

Bought a brand new $15,000 unit from ABA a couple of years ago but still have to get them out for repairs every year. It's 'all' under warranty except for the labor charges - which means the $10 part is covered but I have to pay the $700 in labor. Every single time they have come out something new breaks within a week and they have to come out for a second visit. And I always get charged even more!

Alex arrived on time and found our problem very quickly. He was very friendly, efficient & professional. He had the necessary part to replace the faulty one & installed it. He then came in and made sure everything was cooling. He did an excellent job!

I had a new AC installed in 2021 the freon leaked and made a mess in the system the guy came over and looked for the leak and he found it on the old copper that they used when they installed the AC, I was under the impression that when they install a new system they do everything new but they did. He wanted me to pay an additional $3300.00 after I paid 8500.00 for the system.

Kelvin from ABA was awesome. He was very communicative about timing of arrival, and walked me through the issue clearly and efficiently. He was able to diagnose the problem and outline all the steps to fix it. I've called ABA for a variety of issues with my appliances and HVAC, and have never been disappointed in their service. 10/10 would recommend!

We had a huge issue with our furnace and ABA came out quickly and washed out our heat exchanger. They were professional and the price was great! Couldn’t recommend enough!

Brandon was very professional, straight forward and honest. I appreciated his help since the technician who attended to my ac unit failed. Branson was able to explain why it was not addressed correctly and then proceeded appropriately.

ABA is always proactive about keeping my system running smoothly. Their rep Brandon is highly professional, and always gives a clear and thorough assessment of the state of the unit and its operation. I am very pleased with every interaction I have with ABA.

My dryer broke so I called ABA and they were able to get me in immediately to fix it. They did a great job and were very professional. They brought out another technician named Garrett who was excellent to clean out the vents that were extremely clogged. All in all excellent service and I would highly recommend to my family and friends.

The MOST reliable and quickest turnaround HVAC company I have ever dealt with. I have 4 rentals houses that ABA takes care of and they will come out fast for any issues that arise. They also reach out annually for inspections and are very professional and kind. I would 1000% recommend.

    Brandon is a professional.
Your company has performed numerous "upgrades" that has suggested by your technicians and the problems always require multiple visits to resolve yet the problem still we exist.

In the last case of replacing a filter in a Super V 3400 air filtration system, the filter was replaced but the unit was not serviced according to supplied manual and I will to pay someone else to service it properly but it cost me nearly $800.

The air duct replacement that ABA suggested that costed over $1500 is still not functioning properly as well.

The two stars rating is generous.

I had multiple service calls over the last two months for an HVAC issue that was never properly resolved. Each visit resulted in a different diagnosis. I paid to fix multiple items which got things running again temporarily. After continued issues, I sought a 2nd and 3rd opinion to inspect the system, and they discovered a rectangular cut in my furnace plenum that was not part of the original installation. This opening was never sealed and caused significant heating and airflow problems in my home. The plenum seals had never been broken since installation, so it proves they did not do an initial proper inspection and went around the back and cut a hole in it instead.

Two separate technicians outside this company verified the opening was made manually and had not been accessed or repaired through the proper manufacturer panel. Despite this evidence, the company refused to take responsibility or correct the damage.

I have filed a TDLR complaint and disputed the charges with my credit card provider for services already rendered. I strongly encourage anyone considering using this company to get second opinions and to document everything. Or better yet, avoid them at all cost. My experience was costly, stressful, and ultimately unresolved by this provider. Now I have to figure out solutions while I sit in a freezing house. ABA won't tale accountability and denies they made the cut in my plenum.

Brandon arrived on time and was friendly, helpful and competent. He did a good job getting my unit fixed and it didn’t feel like he was a pushy salesman trying to get me to buy things I didn’t really want to buy. FaceTime my experience with Brandon and other ABA technicians, I’ve decided to change from Strand Brothers to ABA to do a service plan.

I am providing a secondary review to address inaccuracies in the company’s public response.

    1. While the technician did suggest replacing the entire 2009 HVAC system due to age, he did not inform us that the blower motor was failing or in need of immediate replacement.

They never diagnose the blower motor as failing, presented repair options, explained urgency, warn that the motor was at risk of going out, or provided pricing for a repair

    2. Their own technician acknowledged that the second technician (Alex) was inexperienced.

During a later service visit, the first technician apologized for the confusion and stated that Alex “should not have been sent out” and had lack of knowledge and is inexperienced.
Alex spent a total of around six hours in our attic over two different visits, testing various components and offering explanations that were later contradicted by both the first technician, and independent technicians.

    3. Two independent HVAC companies confirmed that the plenum’s manufacturer access panel had never been opened.

The screws were still factory-tight, meaning ABA never performed a proper plenum inspection during any of their diagnostic visits.

    4. A separate rectangular cut was found in the backside of the plenum, and it appears to be new.
Both outside companies confirmed the cut was:
    manually made
not part of the original installation
    not accidental damage
    not a manufacturer access point
and recent, with sharp, clean edges and no signs of age or dust

No other HVAC service company has worked on this system previously to ABA, which rules out older work as the source of the damage.

This cut is also located in the same area where the inexperienced technician (Alex) spent extended time during his visits.

The company told us directly they would no longer service our home.

Despite the public statement claiming they “remain ready to perform repairs,” we were told on the phone that they would not return and that we should “go ahead and file a TDLR complaint.”

    Conclusion

I Alison Rios, stand by my original review. My experience involved inconsistent diagnoses across four visits, an inexperienced technician spending extensive time in the attic, a manually cut and unsealed plenum that appears new, visible mold that ABA never disclosed, and a refusal to assist once we raised concerns.

If you want a more accurate picture of this company, please read their Yelp reviews, which reflect experiences closer to mine. The Google reviews do not tell the full story.

ABA never opened the factory access panel

    This alone tells the story.
    Every legitimate technician:
    unscrews the manufacturer panel
    inspects the plenum interior
    checks for blockages
    checks for heat exchanger issues
    checks for leaks
    checks for condensation
    checks for mold
    checks the ducts
    checks airflow
    Your panel was still factory-tight.

    Meaning:
He did not perform a proper diagnostic, even though he was there for hours.
If the hole existed before the visit, he would have:
    noticed it instantly
felt the air pouring into the attic
    heard airflow loss
    seen the insulation movement
    recognized the pressure imbalance
    documented it
    recommended sealing it
    charged you to repair it

There is zero chance a legitimate technician would ignore a catastrophic plenum breach.

“If the hole existed before ABA’s visits, why did their technician spend six hours in the attic and not notice the cut, the airflow loss, or the mold that every other HVAC company saw immediately?”

Included here is a photo of the saw used to cut a hole in my system that was also left at my home by the tech.

Brandon was fantastic. He was very thorough in helping fix my A/C issue and stayed late to make sure that everything was in perfect working order.

He came literally within about 90 minutes of me calling and it was late in the day. Can't thank you enough for the timely service!
