ZERO STARS! Made an appointment for chimney clean and inspection. They were behind and couldn't do it on the day we made the appointment so Chris said he would be out next day. He text me he was on his way. Great news. Shows up at 5pm to my house, sees my driveway and decides it was too steep to walk down so he left, with a notification over text, which I didn't get because my phone was downstairs while I was taking care of my kids upstairs. Are you kidding me? Like other reviewers have posted he claimed he was "too old" to be walking down my driveway. Wow. How exactly do you inspect chimneys when you can't even walk down a driveway! Sounds like you need to retire. Lazy. Unprofessional. Embarrassing that you run your business like this. My money will go elsewhere, and anyone thinking about hiring Atlas Chimney should go elsewhere too, before your time is wasted.

We had a great experience with Chris at Atlas Chimney. We moved in to this house a couple years ago, but given the sheer number of other things that either broke or were already bad but missed during the home inspection, I'd been hesitant to use the fireplace until getting it properly inspected and cleaned by someone who specializes in such things.

Chris got here, checked over the gas loop, then inspected the chimney. After a few minutes, he called me over, told me things were in good shape and the chimney really didn't need cleaning. He reduced his quote to cover his time and the inspection without the additional cost of the cleaning. I always appreciate when someone is honest and doesn't charge for something I don't need, and I'd definitely call Chris again based on this experience.

Best overall experience ever. I diligently research needs, methods, pricing, and even folklore about services I have performed at my home. Atlas was the only certified chimney company I could find in the area, now I know why, I met Chris and (lets face it) I was watching carefully with high interest, hoping to not be rude or interfere. Every task performed and every question answered , confirmed my research to my satisfaction. In the end, I felt like it was me who passed the test. I got quality work done, but I actually had fun! Ill not put off this important yearly servicing anymore. You bet I will be calling Atlas Chimney again, and will refer my family, friends, and Colleagues.

I highly recommend Chris and Atlas Chimney. He is very knowledgeable and personable. He and his crew cleaned and checked out our fireplace after we purchased our home. They were efficient and cleaned our living room leaving everything just as they had found it. I wouldn't call anyone else if we need this service again.

We had another great experience with Atlas, and will be calling them again next year. It’s always refreshing to find someone you can trust, and who clearly takes pride in their work. They arrived on time, kept the house clean while working, and were friendly. We’re ready for another fire season:)

Definitely do not let this company near your home! It’s clear that they try to do jobs whether they know the right way to do them or not. We needed the correct dryer vent put on our roof and even bought the vent ourselves. For some reason this job took hours - they said because our roof was steep - but it's no steeper than most roofs and is only 1 story high. You'd think if you were an experienced chimney company, you'd be used to this. And I'm no roofing expert, but anyone can tell that they did a terrible, careless job putting this vent on. Just slapped some glue and shingles around it - then charged $350. I have tried contacting the owner with no luck. Chris, if you want to find a way to right your shoddy craftsmanship, I will happily change this review. But until then, everyone save yourselves, your money and the your home, and look elsewhere.

Owner, Chris Hess, and his assistant, Dimitri, were awesome! They cut-to-size and replaced my refractory panels in my outside fireplace. Communication was great and the cleanup afterward left my deck spotless. I highly recommend Atlas Chimney to everyone!

I called to schedule an inspection, I did not schedule with them. It was a poor interaction. When he answered would not say his business name, I asked twice, is this Atlas Chimney? He refused to say yes or no and hung up on me.

Chris and Brian gave me a good bid after assessing the repairs needed to the top of the chimney that had been damaged in a storm. When it came time to do the work it went off without a hitch because of the planning they had done. Work was completed in the time they said. Great repair, cleaned up after. Highly recommend them.

Chris did a great job! The interior dryer vent was clogged and he was able to clear it in no time. We originally thought we were going to have to buy a new dryer, but a little research and a great Pro, like Chris got us back on track. I highly recommend Atlas Chimney!

Chris is knowledgeable and definitely an expert in his field. He called me in the right amount of time for me to go home from work and he was there waiting on me when I got there. Took him no time at all to fully clean things up. I barely noticed him there as I took work calls from home. I definitely recommend him especially if you need an inspection. Thanks Chris. Chris and his team did a great job of fishing up the fireplace and chimney in out house, built in 1939. We really appreciate their responsiveness and friendly and experienced service. I highly recommend.

Chris was very thorough, up front, and honest. The safety of my home and family was most important in his inspection and report. He wasn’t trying to sell me anything just gave me the cold hard faqs and allowed me to make the decision from there. Very impressed

Chris and his assistant came out the same day. They were friendly and knowledgeable. The estimate was somewhat higher than a competing quote, but he returned well ahead of the date promised with the newly fabricated chimney crown. His installer did an excellent job and afterward shared photos of the important details. I feel good about their quality.

Chris has done work on two homes for my family. I will state up front that he is knowledgeable, experienced, and the work that he does is high quality. However, his poor responsiveness and lack of due diligence cause me to not recommend his business. On the first job, he rescheduled multiple times, often on short notice. However, the end result was good work. On the second home, he charged $200 for an inspection where he only looked up the chimney and said that it didn't need sweeping. It was a clear, sunny day, but he didn't bother to get up on the roof to inspect from the top (I did after, and saw something that concerned me). The chimney was also lacking a chimney cap, and he recommended getting one. Without getting up on the roof and confirming, he gave a measurement for a chimney cap. We bought one at the size he recommended, and it was wrong. We called and left several voice mails with him, but he never picked up or called back. So not only did we not get our money's worth on the inspection, we wasted over $100 on a useless chimney cap, and will have to get another one at additional expense. I cannot recommend using Atlas Chimney due to the owner's laziness and lack of responsiveness.

Chris and his crew arrived promptly and attended to my rooftop dryer vent first. We saw the lint blow out as Brian was inside at the dryer utilizing a leaf blower. Meanwhile Bradley attended to the chimney where there was a small creosote build-up. Chris and I had a great conversation while the guys were doing the work and I found him very personable as well as knowledgeable. Needless to say, I'll be calling them back in a couple of years just to be safe!

I just had my chimney inspected and cleaned by Atlas, I had the same done in 2020. This is the only company I will use or trust to maintain my chimney.

They show up on time, explain what they are doing and never leave a mess.

Chris and Atlas saved me a bunch of money. A different company tried to convince me my chimney needed to be rebuilt because of gaps and cracks, but Brian simply filled in the gaps for significantly less. They were prompt, communicated well, and seemed honest in recommending what needed to be done. The work done seems to be of good quality.

Unfortunately we wasted our time and money with this company.
We contacted them in the first week of November, with hopes of getting a job done in time to have a fire this winter. They charged $275 for the chimney inspection. The gentleman that inspected the chimney wrote up an estimate for $5800 on the spot, which I said I was good with, and I asked when we could start. He said they were probably 2 weeks out but he needed his boss to double check the price. I was excited for the quick turnaround! I should have known it was too good to be true. After that, I repeatedly had to follow up to get any updates. The lack of communication and effort to schedule the work ultimately led us to cut our losses and move on. By mid-January our job still had not been scheduled. We were told “everyone waits until the first cold front to call” funny thing to say when you are in the fireplace business. I don’t think they cared to have our business anyway, it’s probably for the best.

The initial experience was great. I got a quick response to my inquiry and spoke to the owner who was very nice. The inspection itself also went well. However, I was told that my chimney is a fire hazard and needs repairs. I was supposed to get an estimate for the repairs but never received it. I reached out asking if I missed the email and never heard back.
