Honest and fair priced plumber. Had him replace valves and supply lines to in my bathrooms. You get him directly when you call. I always prefer to work directly with an experienced owner/operator like Nathan vs using a larger company where you never know what level of technician you'll get. He even walked me through key steps of the repair so I could try to DIY any similar fixes in the future.

We thought only of Sterling to rebuild our home after our lightning/fire in 2019. They built it for us in 2005 and again in 2020. We are very pleased with our second Sterling-built home.

We have built 3 homes and remodeled another from the studs...Sterling was by far the worst experience. If they are all about “the relationship” and addressing every concern of their homeowners, why do we still have issue(s) raised at or immediately after move-in that are unresolved 11 months later? Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere.

Don’t fall for the relationship sales pitch. We’ve lived in our Sterling home for 11 months and are still trying to get our house complete. We were never a priority to Sterling because they were building a spec Parade Home while building ours, we had a change in our superintendent 5 times, the list could go on! Perfection was never our goal, just completion in a reasonable period of time. One of these days we can relax, enjoy, and appreciate our house...maybe when we don’t have to accommodate workers/subcontractors several times a week and sometimes multiple in the same day.

Sterling Custom Homes is a great business partner. easy to work with, fast to solve problems with a great attention to detail and a "do it right" attitude. I also appreciate the ethical approach and the personal touch to business matters.

This was the second home we have had Sterling build for us. The first one was 25 yrs ago. That was and is a great house. Because we wanted to down sized we had Sterling build us something a little smaller. We started building a year ago just as the pandemic began. We thought about holding off until after the pandemic. We talked to Sterling and their concern was that the construction industry would be in chaos coming out of the shut down. They were right. We took their advice and we just moved onto our new home 2 weeks ago. There were some bumps through the construction because of the pandemic, but Sterling managed them and kept the project on track.

To get a good feel for a Sterling home, you need to go visit one during the framing stage and look at the lumber Sterling puts in. Then go look at some other homes being framed by other builders. I think you’ll see a big difference. In my opinion, Sterling builds a great custom home.

Sterling built our custom home in 2017 and it is both beautiful and functional. The process was efficient and actually enjoyable, from concept to design to construction to landscaping. Everything stayed on schedule because Sterling guided us through the many suppliers involved, and therefore we were able to make decisions in a timely way. Sterling executed. Construction foremen were a pleasure to deal with. Any minor problems we have 3 years later - nothing to do with Sterling - Sterling takes care of them. Duke is a gem, a true professional.

For those of us that decide to build our home, choosing the right builder is key. We have built 3 custom homes over the past 35 years and were fortunate enough to have had 3 really good builders, who led us through the home building process with precision and delivered a very high quality home. Until this year we thought that was all you could ask for! 11 years ago we built our dream home with Sterling Custom Homes and we couldn't have been happier with the process and the outcome. They made sure about that.

This year we noticed that an exterior beam seemed to be sagging. Even though our 10 year home building warranty had expired we called Sterling and Duke McDowell, the president, came over the next day. The following day he had a crew there to shore the beam and start the investigative work of what was wrong. Duke and a few experts diagnosed the issue ( rain over the years), put together the fairly complex repair plan and unleashed a number of contractors to remedy the situation. A number of weeks later everything was perfect once again. I knew the cost was going to be very expensive but when I went to pay, Duke said, "he wanted to take care of it for me" and he did! That is how you know you have chosen an exceptional builder.
