The staff at this establishment are fantastic! We were greeted and helped immediately. The bench test is performed in front of you, so you are assured the information you are given is accurate. Chrystal explained the motor had failed and after a short wait, she provided 2 options to resolve the issue. We chose the motor that was in stock, and she installed it (for free) in the housing. Then she hooked it up for a bench test, so we could know what to expect once it was reinstalled at home. Chrystal is knowledgeable and friendly. She explained every detail as she walked us through the issue. When we walked out carrying our (new assembled in the housing) blower motor, it was like carrying home our newborn baby. It is installed and working better than we could have imagined.

Well shlt! An experience that actually matched all the five-star reviews!! I'm in my mid-50s and this is my first "positive" review, ever. Had to make time for it. Live in the mid-cities area and needed a replacement fan motor. After reaching out to a number of businesses in DFW, I realized there weren't many options for HVAC supplies for DIY folks.

Called Open to Public and was given a quote that was actually less than the other companies I spoke with this morning that did sales to the public. Was told, just bring the whole top part of the unit and they would swap it out for me... My choice then came down to making a 1.5 hour round-trip to Open to Public (today) or get something off Amazon and get it in a couple of days - and of course, risk it not being what I ordered, defective, etc... Still a bit skeptical of the reviews (TBH), decided to make the drive. Glad I did!

Can sum it up the experience in one word - OUTSTANDING. Paid what I was quoted, took in motor still attached to the housing and fan and they immediately started the work to replace with new motor. After assembly, tested operations with the new capacitor they included - everything done right in front of me. Excellent attention to detail I might add...

I definitely could have done this (swapped out the motor) myself and "maybe" for a few dollars less. That said, for them to provide me an expertly done "plug-and-play" result was well worth the drive and extra dollars. This is the type of business we need more of/need to support. THANK YOU!

I came to Open to Public HVAC parts to get a replacement fan motor, and I was super impressed with all their help! They diagnosed that my old motor was pulling too much current, found a new capacitor while I was there and even cut the motor shaft to fit. Chrystal was very nice and helpful. So happy I came here!

Went in with what I assumed was a bad capacitor. Jasmine verified the compressor terminal was bad on the dual capacitor that came with the AC. I told her it was only connected to the compressor and she suggested/sold me a more suitable single capacitor. Great service!

Chester helped me over the phone to identify which parts I needed, and Christy helped in store to color code wires and trim a part. Great experience, and I would highly recommend this store!!

Outstanding Service – Above and Beyond!

I came in knowing almost nothing about fixing an AC unit — just that the capacitor and fan motor had gone out. I found this place online and gave them a call. Chrystal answered and was incredibly helpful right from the start. She looked up the parts I needed, confirmed they had them in stock, and gave me a clear price.

When I picked up the parts, Chrystal didn’t just hand them over — she actually walked me through the repair process and even drew a diagram showing exactly how to wire everything properly. During installation, I had a few questions and called back. She patiently walked me through it over the phone.

Fast forward three weeks, and I had the same issue with a second unit. This time, it was a breeze. I spoke with the tech, Matt, and again received nothing but top-notch service.

From start to finish, everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely cared about helping. You just don’t find customer service like this anymore. They saved me a lot of money and stress. Well done to the entire team!

I had my hamster wheel break in half and my wife started doing the repairs on it she got the fan out and was told by a different retailer to replace the motor which that was not the problem. She called open to public about the hamster wheel. They said they had one. She also took the entire housing for the motor and wheel into the store where Matt bench tested the old motor said maybe 10 years maybe not at that time we decided to just upgrade the motor. Matt replaced the motor and the wheel and tuned it all to the housing and set up wires where the install was very easy. My wife got it all installed and I appreciate everything this company did to help us. Next time I’m starting here so thank you guys very much

This place is awesome. I needed ac fan motor. You can text the phone number the info and this was the reply I got:

“We do have an aftermarket replacement that covers the spec, $XXX.XXw/ tax. If you want to bring that entire top cover/motor/blade assembly in, we can set the new motor up for you.”

Absolutely great place to shop for HVAC parts. My condenser motor went out and by chance I stumbled upon their webpage. I reached out via text and they helped me find a replacement motor and quoted the price. Next day when I took my motor along with the cage to the store, Chrystal helped me with diagnosing old motor to make sure it is dead and installing a new one up to a point that all I had to do was plug the wires. Thank you for the awesome service.

Very kind and helpful. I stopped by ferguson, lennox, century hvac prior for information of an AC part... only this place gave me the part information. Highly recommend them for all those who are not contractors.

5 stars are not enough. They saved me hundreds of dollars by providing the correct diagnosis for a blower motor that never turns off. Very experienced and genuinely want to help a homeowner as opposed to these HVAC companies making profit by misdiagnosing your system and upselling parts you don’t need. These companies in DFW want to change your whole HVAC system if it’s close to 10 years old. Be careful and stop by Open to Public HVAC parts before doing that.

Twice in 20 plus years this business and its predecessor have saved me $$$$. Bring your your suspect parts.. they will bench test it for you.. and if needed..get you a replacement for a reasonable price. Excellent sevice... DIYers are rewarded by this business, just a little work and you can save $$$$.

This is the best place in the DFW area for HVAC parts, they have a ton of parts in stock and will gladly test and replace components for you free of charge! Seriously, what kind of business still does this?!?

I took my blower motor in today and not only did they have a replacement but they also swapped it out of the housing for me and tested it before I left. I couldn’t ask for a better experience.

Sourcing parts for HVAC repair locally is a racket for service companies. It's amazing DFW has a shop like this for the public. The staff when I went there to get my replacement condenser fan, Sheila and Dan and Matt, we're all EXTREMELY helpful and knowledgeable. I kinda figured my motor was shot, but they were able to bench test it and verify it for me. Replacing a condenser fan motor myself probably saved me over a grand on a service call. Amazing service, reasonably prices, even for a drive all the way from north Fort Worth! Well worth it and will recommend to everyone and will continue to drive and source my parts here!

Incredible shop. They had my part in stock. I was advised to bring the motor with the lid and they would replace it. Chrystal was amazing and hooked up the new motor to the fan, terminated cables and cut them to length along with trimming the motor shaft! She also explained the process along the way. Wish I could rate them 10 stars. Highly recommend!!

This is the place you need to go for all your HVAC needs.. don’t fall into trap with others who doesn’t even know what they are selling (the other shop I was trying to buy from). My friend recommended this place and I can thank him enough.
Their prices are reasonable and honesty is their policy. I am a user myself who doesn’t know much about electrical stuff but I thought to change my AC unit fan motor by myself. They got me when I was tying to buy it 😂 and made all the customization required for me (from electrical wiring to cutting the shaft) to make it really easy for me to install it. Cant thank them enough.

This place is 50 minutes away from my house but was totally worth it. They are supremely helpful and actually good prices compared to online. They are also very well versed and will answer any questions you have. They will make sure you have the right part and make sure you are set up for easy installation. Even though this place is far if i ever have problems again this will be the first place i turn to for help and parts. Wish i could give 6 stars.

Worked with several people here to help diagnose and replace a faulty part. All were very patient and knowledgeable, and saved me a significant amount of money. Highly recommended!
