Appliance Repair reviews in Houston, Texas
-
After two months and four visits our refrigerator is still broken. This company lacks business acumen and customer service skills. They are rude and incompetent. Specifically, Stan and Maria. I would not recommend this company for repair services. Save yourself stress and money. Hire someone else.

most arrogant people in the front desk. AHS will lose their business if they continue to use them .

The first time a technician came to my home he looked at the washer, plugged it in, and said "All done, you're ready to go! Just let it complete a full cycle and you can do your laundry! Despite me telling him that the thing would stop before completion. I called back and another Technician named Mike came out and said I needed a new motor, and he would get the part ordered and be back to fix the washer. Next, I got a message from AHS that the job was completed and asking for me to complete a survey on the service I received. After explaining to AHS that problem was never fixed, Mike called the next night and apologized for his colleagues ignorance and assured me that someone would call me the next morning because he didn't see an order for any parts. I never got that call, I had to call them. They LIED and said someone would be here on 2/29/24 between 1 and 5, but no one showed up. As of right now, I have been on hold for 18 minutes to speak with someone at Hornet Appliance, while also calling them on another phone and getting a voicemail. I have responded to their text message as advised but no one has responded. Listen people - If AHS tries to dispatch Hornet Appliance to fix ANYTHING in your home, I'd advise you to call AHS and demand another company. This work order began in January, it doesn't take 2 months to get a part and repair a fricking washing machine. You've been warned, all of these reviews are not lying. It seems like this ish should be considered a scam or illegal somewhere in America, cause it's totally unacceptable. At this point I'm about to drive to their office because 24 minutes and I'm still on hold!

Was iffy about this company in the beginning on the bad reviews I saw, but I had no choice but to use them because I have American Home Shield. First things they fixed were stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher. Took forever to get those complete and a lot of miscommunication betwee them and AHS. Now it's my dryer and they can't seem to get this fixed. Started the ticket in January and now its March and has not been completely repaired. Again seems to be a lot of miscommunication.. this tech came over and took the vent apart and put a stocking on it and told my mom to run it. We went into the dryer room and everyone in the house became dizzy so we turned it off and opened every window and door in the house. The dryer room was over 100 degrees. I've been calling them for 2 days and they keep lying to me telling me they would have thre tech c as all before 5pm. Guess what. No call. I this they just trying to let the warranty run out. What a scam. I may cancel American home Shield after this experience.
Update, they got sent out to me again and nothing has changed. AHS need to cancel this company. They get 0 stars 🌟. -
NEVER answer the phone or return messages. AHS uses these incompetent companies to fix your stuff. Came out and ordered parts for my washer I didn’t need sounds worse than before still doesn’t work and they won’t answer the phone. AHS doesn’t care. Will force you to buy a new machine so they don’t have to pay to get it fixed. 3 weeks without a washer… HORNET is not worth your time and AHS is failing just as much using them.

I was unfortunately related to Hornet Appliance Services by American Home Shield (The Worst), for an issue regarding my washer on 11/7. After several attempts and a few [scheduled] visits, where they were a no call/no show, they decided to pass the work order onto another vendor without any communication.
Our washer needed parts, but they passed our work order so they would not receive any negative marks from AHS.
*Important Note - A replacement of anything supposedly goes on a vendor's record.
A month later, we are still without a washer, AHS stated that they did not have the parts to fix our washer, which is fine if HOT SHOTS would've just acknowledged that first instead of dragging it on for 3 weeks, just so the work order could restart.
Please save yourself the time, headache and unprofessionalism and do not select them. Should you receive them through the vendor, I would ask for something else...these ratings aren't low for a reason. -
Sadly todays experience was not good. I called to set up an appointment. I gave an address of one of my rental homes. She could not find me in the system.. none of that should have mattered. I have referred HORNET to many past clients. She found my personal home.. and then asked me again what the problem was. I had already told her. 10 minutes wasted time in my day. I have an appointment set up with another company that I refer.. and was not given any hassle. This was the office managers way of doing business. Very Sad. I am the first to compliment when things are great.. not this time. I did ask to speak to a manager.

Using my home warranty dictated my options and I have to say that after reading the reviews regarding Horent I was very concerned, but I'm willing to give anyone a chance. So with that I can't say enough GREAT things about Felix! He was awesome, smiling, informative and willing to help me fully understand what was wrong with my refrigerator! He told me when he thought he would get the parts after ordering them the same day and then worked with me to make our house his first stop so I could get to work quickly. I'm a FAN and I hope Hornet knows the value of their employee because he's a GEM!

I called them on 5/25/22 to schedule repair to my fridge. they told me they charge a $75 fee to inspect it, which they timely collected, which would be applied towards repairs if decided to repair.. they took down my credit card# and set the appointment for Saturday 5/28. No one showed up or called. I called them several times the following week with no answer. finally they answered and rescheduled me. a tech went to my house on 6/1 while I was at work. my wife told me the tech didn't even touch the fridge. he heard the symptoms and said he knew exactly what it was. was told someone would call me the next day with a diagnosis and repair estimate. a more than a week later, no one has called me. again I've been calling repeatedly with no answer. when I called from a different number on 6/7, the lady assured me they were shopping for parts and I would get a call by end of day, which of course never came.
do not do business with these people please. you will regret it. -
Wish I would have read these reviews before I allowed American Home Shield to chose Hornet Appliance Services for my washing machine repairs. It took 1 week to get the parts and I was told that repairs would be made the week the parts came in which was Monday, 3/11. I was told today that the parts haven't been verified BUT I would be contacted once the parts were provided to the scheduler. There office staff did not answer the phone for 7 days and when they did, they were unprofessional and rude.

After dealing with another appliance vendor thru American Home Shield for two months and six visits, the work order was given to Hornet Appliance to fix my refrigerator. Mike the technician was professional, courteous and was actually able to troubleshoot the problem. He ordered the part and correctly fixed the problem that six others could not.

This is the worst company I've ever dealt with. Ever. Their office staff is rude, they don't return phone calls, schedule you on days you tell them you can't be home, and my oven is STILL broken two months after they were first assigned to fix it through my home warranty company. Their customer service is so bad, that even when my warranty company reached out to them on my behalf, he (the warranty representative) said he would escalate them because of how awful they were to him as well! I have no idea how they're still in business. Go anywhere but here for your home appliance repair! Literally anywhere else. If I could give them a lower rating than just one star, I would.

If there was anyway to put zero stars I would. Completely unhelpful and unprofessional. I got an appointment set with an outrageous 1-5pm window so I take off work to be there and no one shows up. Not a call, not a message and nor email telling me anyone wasn’t going to show up. Then today they change my appointment twice and leave me on hold for 40 minutes. Then claimed I didn’t give them any information that they needed even though the information they needed was clearly told to me when they asked me for the appointment. Would recommend finding a better company for appliance repair.

I used Hornet a year ago for repairs on a dryer and they were great. In May I called them out for a freezer and was told there was a $75.00 trip charge. The tech came out and was courteous and professional. He explained the problem and I chose not to let them fix it. I was never charged the $75.00 trip fee. I, being the nice guy I am called to let them know they never charged me. Left a voice mail and never heard back from them. I called them on 11/21/22 to have them come out to fix my oven. Left a voice mail and never heard back from them. Guess they do not like my business or taking my money. While the technicians did a great job when they came out, the customer service is terrible. I will be finding a new appliance repair company.

If I could give this company a zero I would I open the case back on October 30. They sent two technicians out here and it’s now December each time a technician came out for my fridge which is not cooling All they could tell me was to unplug it for 24 to 48 hours and it should work again. Well I have been doing that since October and it’s still not working. I called several times and spoke to a manager name Maria And no one could find any notations or valid notes that either one of the technicians left when I tried to explain to her that they should be held accountable for not leaving any notations she got an attitude very unprofessional so now we’re in December and they have sent a secondary company out to look at my refrigerator Because the previous two technicians from this company left no notes whatsoever still to this day. My fridge is not working and all they could tell me and this new company when we called is they done all that they could do so it’s up to this company to diagnose it their self I even called on several occasions and requested that they get one of the technicians on the phone to see what exactly was done. All they could tell me is that they only seeing them come out twice not six times. This company is very unprofessional starting from the customer service rep that answers the phone to the Manager and the two technicians that came out they only worry about getting paid but nothing dealing with fixing any parts or anything Still till this day no one knows what part was actually fixed.

Our dryer stopped working around 10/21/22. We have home warranty and they asked Hornet Appliance to come out and fix our dryer. The first time someone came out was in October and within 3 weeks the dryer was once again not heating. So I contacted home warranty and again since Hornet Appliance was the company who originally came out they said they would have to ask them to come out again. Well this was on 11/14/22. I didn't receive a call for two days, so i contacted them and the lady who answered said oh we are busy and lots of our staff is out so we couldn't get back to you or schedule anything. So she scheduled us for Monday 11/21/22. Someone came out and checked the appliance said well now its two different parts so we will order them. I call them today 12/5/22 since I have heard nothing & I learn from American Home Shield that Hornet Appliance's didn't put in a request for parts until 11/29/22. The ETA for the parts is 12/9/22. Terrible experience with Hornet appliance - very unprofessional - they do not answer the phone or call back - their voicemail is always full as well.
-
Horrible company!! Would give zero stars if I could. Their front desk girl is very rude! Not to mention, they never completed our appliance repair. We ended up having a different company complete the job. The other company even knew of Hornet Appliances how bad their service is (he hears this regularly from his customers when he has to finish a job Hornet started). Don't waste your time with this company!
-
No one would answer the phone. Eventually the general mailbox was completely full and not even our homeowners insurance could get ahold of anyone with an update. The tech that came to look at our oven was nice but that was the only positive I can say about the company.
-
Absolutely the WORST! They don't respond to phone calls, their voicemail is full, front desk is extremely rude, has an attitude, their technician came to our home 4 times couldn't fix a simple cook top over a 2 months span, office is a mess has no clue where parts are, and blaming the customer for their own confusion. Front desk also bluntly told me in her words "I don't know my technician's schedule, I don't know when his next availability is." "I don't know when my manager is coming back from lunch, I don't have any schedule". We had to deal with them because of our Home Owners Insurance sent them on initial repair. I will NEVER EVER EVER recommend them to anyone, or EVER use them again.

Very very poor and unprofessional service. Through our insurance, hornet was sent as vendor to fix our dishwasher. It was making a noise while running. First technician came on Tuesday. Told us that something stuck n drain pipe and that his colleague would make an appointment to clean it. There were some tires broken on the lower tray of dishwasher. He said he would order those two.
His colleague came, with only 2 tires (not even 4) and told us that he got the instructions that this was the only thing required! There was no other issue. I told him about the noise to which he said it’s not covered and I asked am I supposed to wait till dishwasher is completely broken! Both of them were in such a rush. I asked him why his colleague didn’t inform. He was rude and I called hornet on the same day. Initially they picked up and then they would not answer the phone. I kept calling for 2-3 days. So do not engage them directly. Don’t pay them till ur job is done. Only when the insurance company talked to them then the guy came to fix it. It took him not even 5 minutes to suck out whatever was stuck in drain pipe. Horrible, unprofessional and rude service. Do not hire directly unless there is an insurance company which controls the payment. They never wrote in their initial work order what they came to fix. Just wrote abt parts ordered, which were wheels. And wheels were not even the issue. I could have ordered myself for far cheaper! Giving two stars only because the issue finally resolved. But it gave me such headaches and 2-3 calls to my insurance -
Terrible company with extremely poor customer service. They bump you repeatedly for the repair claiming "Tech Emergency" or "Short Staff". If you take off work ensure to follow-up, your time does not matter and they will not show up or communicate if your appointment was rescheduled. BE WARNED!
When you speak to a customer service agent and ask them direct questions, they are vague with their answers and act oblivious to the situation. American Home Shield is no better. How can you stand by this company and allow them to represent you to your customers when they treat you like you don't matter? These people are horrible. Stay away!"
Almost two weeks and counting without a stove.
