Appliance Repair reviews in Houston, Texas

This was the very worst service. The tech came out and said there was as no power to my washer - he didn't even ask to go have me check the breaker box. I explained the power was working and that the dryer also was working fine, and that the washer was also not draining water but he refused to work on it at all and left. He was here literally 5-10 minutes!!! As soon as he left I plugged it back in and the power worked fine. The power to the washer machine plug works just fine. I emailed the company and their phone lines are down and no response.

Not only are they not responsive they flat out don’t answer their phone. They say they close at 5 but on multiple different days they haven’t answered any calls, and don’t have voicemail, after 4 pm.
I use America Homeshield and they used Hornet for the repair. The part took an additional week to come in and even though AH shows it was delivered Hornet “hasn’t received the part for my covered repair”. Customer service is horrible and filled with nothing but excuses.
They will dispatch to look into a problem quickly but I have zero trust to when it comes to following through with the repair. Very let down customer. For a service company, they are at the bottom of the list. -
My washer went out a month ago. The first time Hornet came out they "fixed"it and it worked for one day. I requested service again and said that I can be at home after 4pm because of my job. Since then they have set appointments from 1-5. And I reiterated I will be at home after 4 pm. The technician always shows up around 3pm creating a missed appointment. This has happened 3 times. Then other times I get messages that a tech. will be out and one never shows up. I've called AHS but they are no help and Hornet never answers their phones either.

I recently had the pleasure of utilizing Hornet Appliance Services for a washer repair, and I must say I was thoroughly impressed. Their quick and efficient work, combined with their exceptional customer service, left me extremely satisfied. The technician, Felix, exemplified a high level of professionalism and expertise in appliance repair. I highly recommend Hornet Appliance Services to anyone in need of reliable and top-notch appliance repair services.

They have had to come out to fix my refrigerator 7 times now. SEVEN. Since January 1. It wasn’t cooling, they said it was the compressor. They fixed it. Wasn’t cooling again 2 days later and I lost everything in the fridge again. Supposedly the fan went out. Fixed it. Then the ice maker wasn’t working the day after they fixed the fan (when it was working the whole time before that). Ordered a new one and it still didn’t work. Came back out to diagnose it again and ordered another new ice maker. We are nearing the end of march. This is the worst company I’ve ever dealt with. American Home Shield should be embarrassed for contracting them. And they show up unannounced very early or very late for their scheduled appt. Just terrible all around. TERRIBLE.

Disappointing. Fridge was not cooling, they came to diagnose, diagnosed incorrectly. Ordered wrong parts then fridge continued to not work properly. Called a second time, this time they diagnosed correctly. Didn’t order the necessary parts until 1 week later. I had to call multiple times to check in to see what’s going on. I haven’t had a fridge working properly for over a month. They didn’t offer to get me in sooner. Poor customer service, poor communication, and the techs didn’t diagnose correctly. I wouldn’t recommend this company for a smooth and easy fix.

Hornet Appliance was dispatched to me through our home warranty company. They were so busy, the I had to wait a over a week before a technician was able to come out. They finally came out today, just to look at my washer and tell me "they don't service double washers". And the technician could not even tell me why; "It's their rule" he said. Why didn't Hornet ask this when they scheduled the appointment? What a waste of my time and what poor customer service and business systems.

Part was on back order for my oven - heating element. Waited a month and some to schedule the appointment once the replacement part arrived. Window for tech is 1pm to 5pm, normal. Tech arrives at 4pm.
Installation time for the equipment was a total of 20 minutes, give or take. Unit turns back on - brief pause - Tech and I say our goodbyes.
Unfortunately for me, the technician may have tested the oven by turning the unit on, but what the technician failed to do was allow the oven to reach temperature.
So, after a soft pop was heard, the oven lost power and tripped a breaker. The oven was not tripping the breaker before. I could at least turn the oven on prior to the replacement, but sadly that is no longer a thing.
Time was 4:30pm when I began to call their office, and as others have stated - no answer. Granted, they close at 5pm; giving them grace here.
Update:
Technician returned to my home and had fixed what they had broken - popping a breaker, but the issue with the oven not heating remains. So, I scheduled the return appointment immediately - 3/13/23. No availability until 3/16/23 - timeframe: 1pm to 5 pm. I had tried calling their office multiple times throughout the day, just to make sure that they were still coming to my home. No answer. The window for arrival has now passed and I have not received text/email/call from Hornet Appliances. Will return with another update if and when they return.
Garbage. -
I don’t know if you guys are fixing appliances at HEB or not, (more than likely not) but next time I would LOVE to be able to get into my car and not from the passenger side because you guys didn’t care enough to park between the lines. Thanks so much for the inconvenience!

A nightmare dealing with this monsters. They show up at the house unannounced. They expect for you to be waiting for them like you were their hostage.
Despite to the fact they had my contact cell phone with them, the careless technician did not bother to notify me they were here.
They rather called my office number and my personnel instruct them to contact me directly. The office called me immediately and when I open my house cameras app, the tech already had left the property.
I am reporting this falling nightmare company to my American Home Shield warranty company.
Hopefully, they will follow up with the cancellation of their contract.
As a corporate business manager, I know that in order to stay in business, you are obligated to provide top notch customer service experience.
The lady that is in charge of answering the calls, barely gave me her Boss man name. She claimed she did not know his las name. All I got is the name Felix. That is bull crap in my book of experience.
Do not bother to contact me. I will instruct American Home Shield for Hornet Appliances not to come near my house.
Thank you -
They haven’t even been to my house yet and I want to cancel! Contracted through American Home Shield my appointment was scheduled between 1pm and 5pm. A representative call me at 9am the day of the appointment informing me the technician will be at my home at 11:30am! I have already planned my day around being at home for 1pm! Call the office and all they can say is “do you want to reschedule” NO!! I took off work for this and can’t miss another day! American Home Shield should look at reviews before contract with these companies! The experience is already very unprofessional. I just hope they can fix my washer!

Do not use this company. My complaint is regarding my refrigerator, like many of the other complaints. The tech has been to my house NINE (9) times at the direction of American Home Shield ("AHS"). Needless to say that my fridge is still not freezing but the contractor reported back to AHS that it is working properly so AHS closed the ticket. I have had to toss out lots of frozen foods during this process. I was up at 1:30a on Aug. 18, 2025 mopping water up off my kitchen floor and inside of the refrigerator. This is a subpar company with unskilled technicians.

On April 16th, Hornet appliance services visited my home for a refrigerator repair. Freon was added, April 17th my fridge again wasn't working. Myself and American Home Shield tried for ten days to reach Hornet. Finally on day eleven someone returned my call, service worker came out and stated we had a large leak and rusty compressor. He noted he would request that American Home shield replace the fridge. This took place on May 3rd. Neither American Home shield nor Myself have been able to reach this company to complete the dispatch. Hornet Appliance Service is the worst company ever. It's a refrigerator for crying out loud. This is not a trusted or responsible company period FULL STOP.

They came and fixed my dishwasher through warranty company. They had to order a part. They came back two days later with it I was out. They came back the next day. Dishwasher works better than ever. Five stars

Had a washer issue that another appliance company couldn’t resolve. The samsung washer kept getting knocked off balance while spinning and never drained the clothes. as it added water to rebalance and got stuck in a loop.
Prior company kept trying to say I was overloading it and to put less clothes on. After fighting them and being persistent he decided to swap the rods as I believed it was that. didn’t resolve the issue.
Hornet came out and said they might have ordered cheaper parts and with samsung you need to order their rods.
problem resolved. -
I was a little skeptical about this company because of the reviews, but Fabian was great! He fixed our dishwasher and now it’s working again. The whole process was efficient and clear. I’m happy with their services.

Hornet has been assigned to my home a few times now by American Home Shield (AHS). Each time, they say the problem is fixed when it isn't, or try to blame it on a maintenance issue when I can prove it's not, and then a second company has to come and fix it...and does a great job with no problem.
The most recent is that there is currently a fire inside the convection area of the oven that starts when my oven is turned on, even though the temperature is less than 100 degrees, and stops the moment I turn off the oven. The guy left in under 2 minutes and closed my service call after doing nothing but touching the inside of the cooking area with a glove. I arrived less than 2 minutes later (they were supposed to give me 30 minutes notice but gave less than 20) and immediately called, but they couldn't reach the tech. Then after 10 minutes said they spoke with him, but he was "too far away to return".
They said they spoke to the tech and it was a grease fire and I have to hire a company to take apart my oven and clean the inside of it as "maintenance" before they can check the temperature. Grease doesn't burn at 100 degrees and a grease fire doesn't stop the moment you turn off the oven with the door open. They said I have to "find someone to clean it before they'll check the temperature" and closed my AHS service call a second time!!
I'm furious at this dishonest company who only seems to want the money for the service call but not the work of actually fixing anything. -
I had two service appointments for my refrigerator with Hornet Appliances, and the experience was unacceptable. The first technician came on 12/22 and provided one assessment. A second technician came on 12/30, spent less than a minute looking at the unit, and gave a completely different assessment. When I asked for clarification and pointed out the inconsistency, he rudely told me he had “20 years of experience” and if I didn’t believe him, I should call the office. He then left without explaining anything further or completing the service.
This level of customer service is the worst I’ve ever experienced—unprofessional, dismissive, and lacking accountability. I strongly advise others to think twice before using Hornet Appliances. -
0% chance I ever use or recommend this company.
Used through American home shield home warranty.
They have failed to fix my dryer 4 times, each time I have to wait to get the diagnostic, then I have to wait for a part availability, then I have to wait for an installation date,
I have done that cycle 4 times with them so far, let’s hope the 5th time they are no longer lying to me when they tell me “it’s fixed”
I completely understand Now getting it right the first time, But four times in a row Shows nothing but incompetence
In my opinion I believe them to be scamming the home warranty company or in some way not being honest about the parts that need to be replaced , because I don’t understand how they else A dryer repair company, Cannot repair a dryer After four diagnostics, And four New part installations.
I have been months without a dryer now.
I’m currently in sitting 5-7 days for another part, the 5th part they have wanted to install.
The receptionist and worker have been kind to me, no problems with them personally.
If your problems are anything like mine , expect at least 4 failures to identify the true problem, and months of being without the appliance you need. -
⭐☆☆☆☆
Disappointing service from BOTH the contractor and AHS.
This vendor was assigned through my home warranty, and the experience has been a mess from the start. Honestly, this reflects poorly not only on the appliance company but also on AHS for partnering with them.
The woman answering the phones is pleasant at first, but that changes quickly when you question a mistake. The moment I pointed out a scheduling issue, her tone shifted to defensive and irritated. Instead of accountability, I got excuses and attitude.
I was told I had an appointment scheduled, only to call the day of service and find out I was never on the schedule. Rather than apologizing, she insisted she “doesn’t forget” and suggested the error was mine. She also confused my information with other customers and claimed she had explained things she never did. The aggressive defense mechanism included allegations of her 15 years experience and 20 years experience for her technician. "She never forgets"
After speaking to AHS that same day, I confirmed the part was already delivered to the vendor, the woman had alleged AHS had not approved the parts, but AHS provided tracking information showing the part was delivered at Hornet. Days later AHS contacted me to confirm a installation times, which I declined sending Hornet back to my house solely due to disrespect of this woman. I am out $100 for the service ticket with AHS. A complete disservice.
When you rely on a home warranty, you expect vetted professionals and basic customer care. Instead, I experienced poor communication, disorganization, and zero accountability.
AHS should seriously re-evaluate the contractors they assign, because this experience did not feel like customer protection, it felt like being passed around without real support or urgency.
I would not recommend this company, and I hope AHS improves the quality and oversight of their service partners. -
The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
