Layo (pronounced la -yo) Hernandez is the MVP, the GOAT, the guy who knows how to turn a tool, thanks to his fathers part in handing down generational skills and his love for customer service. He has worked on multiple home appliances for myself and my family, and he's always prompt with response time. It really doesn't get better than this guy. He is an young, honest, hardworking induvial and an ABSOLUTE necessity to our growing community. I consider this guy family now! Do business with Hernandez Appliance Repair!

Fabulous service- on time, exactly right on fixing appliance. Has successfully fixed Oven & Front loading Washer & Dryer over the past 5 years. Excellent customer service and a pleasure to talk to. Knows his business - every time!

The guy came and fix what we ask, but we ask him if he can fix my stove he said yes, he told us that he have to order the part so we cashapp him the money so he can ordered it. It’s been a while since that now he isn’t answering his phone or calls..

Highly recommend! Came out on a Sunday evening and repaired my dryer. Very nice and knowledgeable. Found the problem right away and only charged for a service call. Will definitely use and recommend for all appliance repair work. He also buys used appliances-repairs them and then sells them. Very good experience.

Very nice. Had a compressor go out on a huge LG fridge. Couldn’t find anyone to work on it without 1000s of dollars. He did a great job at a great price! Now have my fridge back to working wonderful

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Does not follow through with appointments like scheduled. Does not communicate. He completely ghosted us after he assured me he "ordered the parts" and was going to come repair our dryers. Will never use his business again or ever recommend.

Took $310 to order a control board for my oven. Three weeks have gone by, won’t answer phone calls, texts or voicemails.

Hey, I was happy that he was going to come immediately and show up. Somebody’s in the service industry. Also your word matters and you give a ETA of a few minutes and an hour later still a no-show so only show up and then wanna overcharge and up price very small Plastic parts that any common person can purchase like I did on Amazon for six dollars I understand you wanna mark up your money to make a profit but your service calls are not worth $95 and a seven dollar part mark up for 35 only shows that you want a customer for one time and one time only this will be the last time I ever use you Will never recommend you and only recommend that anybody who sees this go to an actual large company and wait for them to show up they’ll be more professional, the show act work vehicle not a junk loaded pick up truck who doesn’t know how to park at somebody’s house

Great service and fast response. This is the second time we’ve used Hernandez Appliance Repair. Both times he’s scheduled less than 24 hours after we first contacted him. Better prices and faster service than anywhere else we called.

Never showed up the first day when he set the apt for 9-930. Gave second chance, set apt 9 the next day, messaged 10 minutes before to verify he would make it. He said he was on his way. 45 minutes later never showed up.

We put a claim in on our home warranty and it was assigned to Hernandez. He came out promptly and said he had to order the part. After the part came in he said he would be by to fix it. He was a no show for 2 days when he said he would be there. He wouldn’t answer his phone, his voicemail was full so I couldn’t leave a message. When I finally talked to him he was extremely rude and hung up on me.

Don't even bother with this guy, he doesn't even show up when he says he will! He scheduled a 9 A.M appointment with my wife for Saturday 8/17/2024 to service our washer. We got up early to make sure everything was ready for him and that he would have plenty of room in our utility room to do what he needed to do. It is now 1:25 P.M. and we have not seen any sign of him. You would think you would get courtesy phone call to say you are not going to be able to make it and possibly reschedule for another time. Things change, and we understand that, but to just no show is a very unprofessional way to run your business. So now we still have no washing machine, and cannot get anyone to come out to service it until Wednesday, which is 4 days away. If anyone asks me for a reference.for an appliance repair technician, this will be the FIRST company that I tell them to not waste their time on.

I called on Friday December 13th about my refridgerator. I have an error code flashing at the top of my fridge. He determined that it is the ice maker and told me he would have to order the part and that he would have it but the following week amd would come back the next Friday to install it. He told me that he does not take credit cards. We went to the ATM and I withdrew $250 for the part. Next Friday rolls around and no call from him so I text and he basically asks me what im talking about. I give him a breakdown of my issue amd our discussion. He has gone dark no contact and is not answering calls. So he stole $250 from us, and just in time for Christmas.

I thought I had someone who could get the job done. Came to my home placed order for repair parts then vanished on me. Luckily I never paid him. But he did receive my replacement parts. Store front is in a shady run down storage unit. DO NOT USE him if you’d like your appliances fixed.

My washer broke and he came out to take a look and determined my bearings broke and it would be more to fix the washer than just getting a new or used one. He said he had a gently used washer he was going to pick up that day. He offered to sell it to me for $250 and told me he would bring it to me later that day or the next day. Never showed!! I text him asking if he was going to show up and never heard from him. Do not use this guy, that’s why he has three star rating.

AWFUL EXPERIENCE. We set an appointment three days prior to the set date. I called him the day of our appointment for him to say he forgot and he's on another call an hour away but he will be there. Our appointment was at noon, six hours later after 2 missed calls and 2 text messages he blocked me. Luckily we didn’t pay him but this business is obviously a joke. Don’t waste your time or money.

"FIXED IT" once, but did not work.... rescheduled for second try..had texted him what time we'd be there... NEVER came by....texted him an hour after waiting and offered to reschedule and VERY QUICKLY heard back from him saying ok... wished he would've texted an HOUR earlier while waiting...just decided to go with someone else..not worth the HEADACHE or WASTED TIME NOR MONEY..

He is late does not communicate. He replaced a part in my dryer a little bit over a month ago. It caught fire and melted the wires, as seen in Photo.He told me he was going to come 7/7/25 , And he never showed I tried contacting him by phone and by text and he never responded. He did read my messages on 7/8 but never replied. I do not recommend him. According to all the other comments, he is notorious for doing this , because I have spoke to several other appliance companies and they confirm that they have heard this several times about him.

We had a great experience with the owner, Layo Hernandez! He came within the same day for a diagnosis and let us know exactly what was wrong with our fridge. He then came back when the part came in and repaired our fridge. It is working perfectly now. Thank you!! We definitely recommend him for LG fridges!

Lalo is great! We have had him fix our refrigerator, our washer and our dryer. He does great work, quick, fair priced and his repairs have lasted. We have used him over the course of the last 3-4 years and have not had to replace an appliance he has repaired for us.

UPDATE.. 3rd attempt lasted 11 days. 2nd attempt Layo replied to my txt and wanted to complete the job as agreed. Layo set a date and time and repaired the fridge. Now a week later and it is still working. Changing 1⭐️ to 3 ⭐️. Original review * 1st attempt I do NOT RECOMMEND Layo and Hernandez appliance repair. Contacted him for refrigerator repair, he didn't arrive on time. Brushed that off.. once he did come he gave me a reasonable estimate for repairs, ordered the part and set another appointment to do repairs. Didn't show up on time and doesn't have everything needed to complete job. The job then went to another week, came to finish the job and it worked 3 days.. called him back and after 3 attempts he was ordering more parts. Made another appointment and never shows. Then when I reached out we made placed another date to complete repairs and still nothing. I can see he's reading my txt but still is yet to complete my repairs. I have asked for a refund but yet to hear back. Don't make the same mistake as me.. I will update or remove if the job is completed. From January 14- present 2026
