Called in the morning, and they were able to service our fridge same day. Tyler came out and was upfront about not being able to complete diagnose our issue since the issue wasn't happening while he was in our home, but he offered a solution and I went with it. He left and returned not even two hours later with the part, which is turned out was just what we needed. He got our fridge back on right, and just in time for Thanksgiving! I'd reach out to A-1 again!

Called for a washer repair. Lady scheduled a visit for Tyler the tech to come. On the day, Tyler called and confirmed arrival time. He was polite and knowledgeable. Had to wait for part to arrival from Dallas. In a few days he returned and finished the job. Washer works fine. A couple of days later, had to call for my dryer. Very pleased lady on the phone was able to schedule him to come on the same day I called! Unfortunately, the repair on my dryer will cost more than the price for a new one. I was well served by this company and have no complaints and would call them again.

Used twice in past six months. Prompt service quickly diagnosed problem and repaired with parts already on truck. Will use again if needed.

I don't recommend A-1, go with the big company instead and here's why:

I called them to schedule diagnosis & repair of my GE GFW850SPN1R washer (purchased 2021) and the women who answered was nice, she took my name, phone and address, and said Tyler would be able to come the next day.

The next day Tyler called and shared he was on his way, and reminded me of the cost. He arrived and I shared what happened with the washer, and what I'd tried to do to fix it (youtube videos). He opened/closed the door a couple of times, did zero diagnostics and said his guess would be the main control and inverter boards, and quoted me $650. I'd expected him to at least go into the washer's service mode, read the codes and try to eliminate other issues but he didn't, and he seemed bothered when I asked if he wasn't going to do that. I asked because he didn't do anything but try to open/close the door a few times, and start a cycle. He kept saying the washer was acting stupid and that his best guess were those two boards. I asked if I'd get some type of credit for misdiagnosing (guessing) if the repairs didn't fix the issue and he said no, that I'd still be responsible for the additional repairs. He joked about not being able to plug into it with a computer and find out the issue.

I then did what I should have done from the beginning, I called GE Appliance repair and they came out, plugged into the washer's ethernet port with their laptop, ran each function to eliminate other issues and pinpointed the exact issue. He spent a good while diagnosing and eliminating other issues, including plugging in a brand new door lock to eliminate that being the issue.

My recommendation, go with the manufacturer's certified/in-house repair option and save time & money. They could have asked what type of washer I had when I called to setup an appointment and they could have said they support that model because they don't have the knowledge or equipment to diagnose appropriately and I would have thanked them for being transparent, and moved on. I encourage you to not make the mistake I made.

Updated (1-31-25 5:34pm): The owner is negating this review stating it's not his company that I worked with and called, so I've uploaded the receipt they provided and the call I made matching their phone number. I was hoping for a different response from the owner but I guess this is the standard for his business.

Tyler with A1 provided quick and professional service! Our fridge was repaired today and has already reached below 37 degrees! Will refer out to family and friends.

I bought a washer and dryer and my washer did not last not even the year I bought it when I moved into my new home last February and it broke down about 7 days ago to the point were there was not fixing it and I know I don’t over load my washers because that’s what damages the washer over flowing it with clothes and still I treated it gently like they recommended me and and it did not last until it made the year. I never called them to fix it for me I just went ahead like a new car bought me a brand new washer at home depo.

I called this company and the owner Jack came out to my house. They charge $99 for the service call, and if you decide to do the recommended repair, they apply that to the cost. My ice maker wasn't making ice. My brother was there with him, while I spoke to him over the phone. He said I needed to purchase a new motor. and quoted me $400+. I was hesitant to do so since I could buy a countertop ice maker for half the price. He told me to think about it over the weekend and let him know since he has to order the part. Friday night while researching the refrigerator online, I found a video that said the ice maker tends to go out due to the wires underneath the door getting ripped/torn every time you open the door. My brother spliced them back together and guess what? My ice maker now works. No new motor needed!! I tried calling the owner back the next day, Saturday, Monday, Wednesday, and then Thursday morning. He finally returned my call Thursday afternoon. When i explained to him the real issue, he said "great, glad your brother fixed it", then he got belligerent with me, and started talking over me. He said to call him if I ever needed help with anything else (obviously being sarcastic) I responded by saying that I would make sure to leave reviews so that the City of San Antonio could be aware of his fraudulent repair services. He then said he would sue me for defamation if I left him a bad review. Sir, you quoted me for a new motor that i did not need. You tried to say that that it's all one piece. LIES. You never even looked at the area where the wires are located to make a correct diagnostic. Definitely do not recommend this company for any repair service.

Highly recommend! The only one I call. They have repaired both my kitchen aid refrigerator (2x) and my LG washing machine. Professional, straight forward and trustworthy. I don’t even bother calling anyone else.

Arrived on time as scheduled. The refrigerator could not be economically repaired,but I got a candid appraisal which is what I needed They didn't try to high pressure me. Best thing was that a human answered the phone to discuss my problems.

Jacob was absolutely wonderful. He not only showed his experience and knowledge in repairing my refrigerator but he also showed great customer care by saving me as much money possible. I will always call A-1 Appliance and will refer them to my friends and family.
