Jacob is an excellent installer. He takes his time telling customers what is going on during job and answering questions before he leaves. What an asset to Smith and Keene. Would recommend him to all my friends

Between our travel schedule and Smith & Keene's backlog of work, installation of the new HVAC system was scheduled 3 weeks out. Tired of a hot/humid house, we were anxious for the new system to be installed. It was our understanding that we would have A/C by the first day but that the crew might return the second day to complete the punch list. This was touted to be a "top notch" crew, there was supposedly an extra person added to the crew, and they would stay late if they were close to finishing. Jacob Tanner and his crew were very friendly and understanding however, unfortunately, Jacob hadn't received those directions and the crew departed at 3:00 the first day without providing any A/C. They returned the next day and finished around 12:30. A couple of hours after the new system was energized, it shut down completely. The thermostat was blank and unresponsive. When Dennis arrived about 5:15 for a service call, he quickly found the float switch on the condensate line had been tripped. We disconnected the condensate pipe where it exits the house and the head pressure from the backed-up water pushed out a massive amount of gunk. He explained that when the float switch trips, it shuts off power to the air handler and thermostat. It appears that Jacob and crew did not blow out the condensate drain line before hooking it back up and making sure it was draining properly outside.

We have been with Smith and Keene for over 30 years and are very happy with their services, We especially appreciate their best technician Dennis, who has always done great work

We have heat again. Three different techs got us there, with Dennis completing the task yesterday. All three were professional, friendly, and able to answer our questions and concerns. Have been using Smith & Keene for years. Can always count on them.

Ricky Phelps was excellent! He did all the electrical work for installing our whole house generator. He was meticulous, correcting some things that were done wrong by previous electricians. He was fun to talk to and I learned a lot about how things should be wired. He also showed me how to correct common minor problems myself so that I wouldn’t have to wait for a service call. S & K is lucky to have such a conscientious and knowledgeable employee!

recently had an issue with my AC unit and needed the heat exchanger replaced. Robert from Smith & Keene came out promptly and delivered exceptional service from start to finish. He arrived on time, was professional and courteous, and clearly explained what needed to be done before getting right to work.

The replacement was done efficiently and with great attention to detail. You could tell Robert knew exactly what he was doing, and he made sure everything was working perfectly before he left. It’s hard to find technicians who combine skill, professionalism, and genuine customer care—but Robert nailed it.

Huge thanks to Robert and the team at Smith & Keene. Highly recommend their service!

The guys were super nice and quick for our generator install!! Our job added some complexity with trying to coordinate with our pool company to make sure everything stayed on the same side of the house. This company worked well with our pool company and we’re thankful for how the job turned out and no extra lines were needed and no extra funds were needed

Frankie Fain came to the rescue! My tankless gas water heater was beeping and flashing, not making hot water, and leaking from underneath. He diagnosed the frozen condensate line immediately and helped me get the system dried out and up and running within an hour. He also was very patient and helped me understand what to look for in the future, how to reconcile the problem so it doesn’t happen again, and answered all my questions regarding preventative maintenance.

Just had Jessica Sheila's, Smith and Keene's electrician, out. She did a great job. She was thorough but efficient. We're very happy with the work she did for us.

Excellent experience with annual inspection / maintenance. Our service technician, Dennis L., was professional, kind and thorough. The rates on the yearly plans are reasonable, and I appreciate the flexible options they offer.

From estimate to installation, our experience with Smith & Keene was excellent (we've used them before and were similary pleased). While the installers, Rex and Eric, encountered some unforeseen difficulties, they persevered and did a great job!

Thank God for Frankie Fain!! My furnance went out on 1 FEB 2026 when the temperature was hovering around 20 degrees farenheit and the winds were whipping around 20-40 mph. I have one of these Lennox super efficient systems that constantly goes out at least once a winter (worse case was about 10 times one winter) due to condensation and / or pressure switches. Frankie, who is always polite and professional got our heat back on th next day when the temperature was hovering around freezing. He's always displays empathy for his customers and goes the extra mile to fix the problem when other technicians come and say there's nothing they can do and leaves . S&K, he should be a service manager or train technicians on customer service. He's not only good at HVAC, he's also good servicing and repairing whole house generators.

Alex and crew did a great job handling my gas line repair and reroute project. Several other companies advised they couldn’t handle but Smith and Keene did! They also came in significantly more fair priced than other competitors in the area. Highly recommend.

    Horror Halloween.

I went into the kitchen Friday night and there was considerable water on the floor
I wipe it up, go back in the kitchen and water is again on floor. I look up and see it’s dripping thru a downstairs ceiling light.

Upstairs, the drain pan is overflowing, and the carpet is soggy.

Smith & Keene Dennis Technician was here Thursday for our seasonal checkup and left the humidifier on. To make matters worse, the drain pipe was left dangling, allowing water to run everywhere. When I tried to put the end back into the drain, the top part with a clamp dropped out. It was not secured.

PS Smith & Keene, I would really like to hear from a supervisor Monday.

We have a ceiling stain where it dripped in the kitchen. My husband has a bad back and was trying to help me and now is in pain. I had to alone carry soggy carpet downstairs and mop up the drain pan and plywood attic floor.

We called your emergency service and no one could come tonight. The drain pipe on the humidifier is woefully short, now that I see it out of the white PVC drain. Why?

    I have lots of questions.
Why did the water not run out the emergency drain pipe that runs to the other side of the house?
I assume the two water sensors in the drain pipe were worthless because the furnace was not on.
Why did Dennis leave the humidifier on when the furnace was off? Why did he leave the humidifier drain pipe loose and not secure?
We have water in our downstairs ceiling light. I’ve called an electrician to come and remove it and assess the damage.
This is careless and potentially very damaging behavior on your technicians part. Had I not seen the water on the kitchen floor, we could have woken to a flooded kitchen. He had the humidifier knob to the highest setting, meaning water was flowing freely.

UPDATE. Technician Dylan came out Saturday morning and fixed the drain, and installed an emergency shutoff sensor on the humidifier, costing us $180. He was polite, professional, good communicator.

Had a great experience with Smith and Keene. Our electrician Jessica was prompt, professional, and friendly. She fixed our lamppost and even installed a photo sensor free of charge. We highly recommend!
