Another great experience with Bluestar Air. This time is for water heater replacement. Our 17-yr old water heater broke down on Thursday night. Called Bluestar and a couple of other companies. Danny has been super responsive. He was able to provide estimates based on photos. He not only worked with me on price as I am a long-term customer but also scheduled the installation Saturday morning. On Saturday, Walter and another technician came on time. They were very professional, thoroughly tested the system after it was installed and patiently answered my questions. 5 star experience all the way!

I’ve used Bluestar Air for annual checkup on AC and furnace since 2016. Their technicians have always been on time and professional. They offer discounts for multi-unit, which is a good value. This year, I have had a couple of problems with my ACs. I called Danny. Every single time, he is super responsive and always arrange to have a technician for me within a couple of hours—services for both times were covered by the annual maintenance plan. This morning, I found puddle of water around the AC drainage hole. I sent picture to Danny, who quickly identified the problem—clogged main floor pipe, which is a plumbing problem. When I told Danny if I do not have a to-go plumber, Danny offered to have his technician come and try using pressure air to clean it. He got me on the schedule for the afternoon and his technician showed up in 2 hours, and successfully unclogged the drain with pressure air. I feel Bluestar Air is very reliable, and they go above and beyond to help their customers.

We’ve used Bluestar for the past two years, twice per year. Our technician, Isaac, does a thorough and professional job - making minor adjustments or repairs to keep our systems running smoothly. For example, he adjusted our vents to improve air circulation to an area I identified as needing it and inspected our humidifier to be sure it was operating properly and synced to our thermostat. Very pleased with the service.

Isaac initially came out to look at what needed to be done. He was professional, courteous, and knowledgable. He provided detailed information for us to make an informed decision. He was more detailed than the 3 other companies we obtained pricing from. He also mentioned considerations that others had not mentioned. The installation team came out today (12.23.25) (Ivan, Walter and another gentleman for which I didn't obtain a name for). They were at our home on time, and completed the job at the end of the day as expected. They were all professional, courteous and very pleasant. We have heat again, and before Christmas so that's a plus!! Thank you to the team!!

I would like to thank Isaac and Bluestar for their incredible performance ; there pricing, execution and service is absolutely the best in the DMV. We had a Carrier Infinity HVAC installed in the attic. Then reworked a gas Furnace and humidifier to work properly because it was not installed correctly.
Also would like to mention the workforce he employees is Five Star. Thank you Blue Star

I have two ratings for the job: Bluestar gets 5 stars, but their finance partner, Wisetack, gets 1 star or lower.

First the good: I needed the damper system repaired for our upper floors system in our house. The system is 3 zones with multiple dampers. The system never worked quite right since new construction and just got worse over time. Two other companies that looked at the system simply balked at doing the repair or replacement. The Bluestar guys didn't and I had the entire system replaced from the crappy builder grade stuff. It works perfectly now.

The bad: the cost of the job wasn't cheap but it was reasonable. I got what I thought was a pre-qualification with Wisetack for a 0% interest rate (with the fine print saying it's subject to change). My credit score is exceptional. I would normally open a new credit card with a teaser 0% and finance a big job with it. I didn't this time because I thought I already had a good rate. Not so, when I tried to use Wisetack the rate jumped from 0% to nearly 12%. Bait and switch. I used another method to pay and had to juggle things around. I was also forced to pay extra for the non-cash price of the install.

In summary: Bluestar is 5 stars with a professional install and a great crew. Wisetack 0% for the bait and switch that cost me extra money.

Technician gave us call 30 minutes before he arrived, as we requested, and arrived right on time and at the beginning of the time window we were given, so we didn’t have to wait around all day. He was very professional and knowledgeable about our HVAC system. He diagnosed the problem and rapidly fixed it.

Incredible service, I cannot recommend them enough! They really came in and saved the day during this awful winter.

From start to finish, the service was tremendous. On the phone, Lyn was so kind, helpful, and organized. She was proactive with communication and set up an appointment quickly and kept me updated on the technician’s timing.

The technician, Isaac, was so knowledgeable and thorough. He inspected everything very closely and explained what was going on in a way that was easy for me to understand. He was very clear on what the problem was, what the solution was, and what to look out for.

We had a hot water heater with a power side vent installed and the floor under the water heater was reinforced/replaced. The plumbing work was professionally done, although I wonder if the vent is protruding far enough given that are roof is currently tarped due to a tree fall and the tarp is not very far from the vent. But IDK. The thing that disturbs me is that your workers removed vinyl flooring and old rotten plywood from under our old water heater and LEFT IT ON THE GROUND, outside the laundry room door. There were pieces of wood with nails poking out of them. As soon as I noticed, I gathered these into one contractor bag and put them in trash. It didn't take long but I should not have had to do this. Your workers did not leave the premises in a safe condition. If they didn't have room for the trash in their truck they could have asked to put it in my garbage pail. But to leave it lying on the ground where someone could have stepped on that nail? Not good. It was also disturbing that the workers left without a check and had to come back because they thought I wasn't home. Both our cars were in the driveway and we were here the entire time. One of the men told me he called several times -- well IDK who he called but it was not me. If I had missed the calls they would have shown on my cell phone and there were no calls.

I really appreciate your work , very fast and professional . I called them 7:00pm they came next day 9:00 am to install my new Havc .

On the hottest day of the year, my heat pump broke down. I called every professional in the area, but none could install a new unit immediately. Then I contacted Comfort Defenders. David was very great at his work. He arrived on time and was patient while explaining the issues and educated me in the process to get it resolved. Their prices are very reasonable and great customer service.

It was a much better experience than the last time we had our system replaced with a different company. The installation itself went smoothly and quickly.
