Service tech William was very nice. This company does a wallet flush. Beware! Never again, their quote for a pilot assembly was more than new logs in a box. I regret trusting this business.

Excellent service at a fair price! I called on Tuesday and they committed to service between 1 and 4 on the next day. Received called Wednesday at 12 that technician was on the way. The technician was dressed professional, affable and very accommodating. He took his shoes off so as not to track in the house. Also, their customer service person was very nice...candidly most of the other companies I called sounded like they would be doing me a favor, very cavalier.Also, their van was very cleaned with a "knock out" painting scheme. They have a A+ rating on Better Business Bureau and Angie's list...old company with "old school" values, refreshing.

I do not recommend, overcharged imo...They will not return my calls or messages. I am using an alias because they know where we live- I do not trust this company

Guirkin's plumbers are fast & thorough. They have done a couple things around our house and I've been very pleased with the service, communications, quality & pricing. I like that I can speak directly with the owner if I have an issue, and they remember me when I call in. Give them a call, support local business!

I have used Guirkin for years, but no more. Their employees and work is no longer professional. If you use them be sure to avoid Andy. He was sarcastic and rude in his responses to my concerns about prior work. He had installed a toilet that was too big for the space and had broken the baseboard heater. He told me that was all that was available acknowledging that it was too big.....it is quite obvious the toilet is jammed under my radiator. His solution was a smaller one, but that it was not the right size. You mean to tell me a plumbing service has two toilets available to install in one's home??? Really???
I then had a leaking shower head installed a couple of weeks ago by Wes. He had to tell me how wonderful he was. That also had to be corrected. Please, just save yourself some time, and find another plumbing service. Plus. they have gone up considerably on their pricing.

I was recommended by a neighbor to use Guirken for plumbing work. I filled out there online form and receive a call back the very next day to come and make the repairs for a quoted price. I was actually impressed with the response time. The tech that came to the house was respectful, but made excuses about the replacement faucet that I was using to for my kitchen sink. Not only did I have to do some of the work, he had to redo the work because it wasn’t working correctly during demonstration. This caused him to be at my house for a longer length of time.

I also wanted the tech to review a toilet that I had replaced the insides for. There was a small leak and I couldn’t figure out if I had not tightened the bolts enough. The tech tightened the bolts and recommended that I get a whole new toilet because I used generic parts.

When I received the work order, I was being charged $100 more than I was quoted. It was explained to me that was because of the time it took to make the repair and the cost to tighten the bolt. Instead of making a big deal out of it with the tech, I contacted the office the very next day and asked to have someone call me to discuss. I explained that the tech was extremely nice, but wanted to understand the breakdown of the work order. I was advised that someone would call me back. The next day I received a voicemail from Tommy that was extremely condescending. Specifically that I wasn’t specific enough about the brand of faucet that I was using to replace the existing faucet. Also that they needed to be compensated for the time that the tech spent at my house. I immediately called Tommy back and attempted to speak with him about my point of view of the repair. He didn’t want to listen at all to what I had to say and ultimately said that they did a great job and there was nothing left to discuss.

After that interaction, I would not recommend using Guirken at all for any plumbing repairs. They are not customer oriented and just lost a potential long term customer. Also, the toilet is still leaking...

High points for politeness; however, the lowest for Quality. These service men came to my house because my fireplace was giving off soot. They charged me $540.00 for new parts and the soot continued. The fireplace had only been used about 6 times (which indicated it was virtually a new fireplace). I contacted someone else after complaining to the owner and he simply indicated "these things happen." The 2nd individual I contacted simply made a few minor changes and no more soot. I would not recommend Guirkin for fireplace although they advertised they have experience in that area

This is my 11th year using Guirkin for my fireplace gas logs install / maintenance. My plumber was not available for a service call so I called Guirkin. They were accommodating, professional and responsive. They fit me in the very next day and arrived during the early morning slot. Wes maintains my gas logs & I was excited to know he would be repairing my leaky kitchen sink and replacing the faucet. I realize everyone's experience is different, varying situations, etc. But, my experience with this company has always been positive.

I strongly regret using Guirkin. They are highly incompetent and extremely rude. They also try to sell you new toilets etc that you don’t need. They were unable to diagnose a leak in my living room ceiling coming from the bathroom above it. They installed a complicated device that they had no idea how to use. They told me that they install equipment, but it is the home owner’s responsibility to figure out how it works, The owner told me that I should have my grandchildren figure it out. I told him that I have teenagers and don’t have grandchildren. He then told me that he didn’t want to hear anything else that I had to say and hung up on me. Unbelievable!!

Wes and Andy came out to inspect and service my gas logs. I could not have been more impressed! Wes had my fireplace cleaned and running like new. I will call Guirkin for all my heating/plumbing/gas log needs.

Not sure what other company services fireplaces in Henrico, but will continue the search. Originally. I called to get an appointment, and whoever I spoke with did not appreciate my inqusitive nature. I wanted to know what the basic $150 service included. I was more or less greeted with a take it or leave it approach. I accepted the appointment, trying to deescalate the conversation, but was not informed that before service would begin, I would be asked to sign a waiver against holding Guiken responsible for the potential breakage of my fireplace glass front. My service call this morning ended there. Thanks for having a final option.

I'm giving this rating because it could have been so much better. The initial contact was questionable because I wasn't greeted as a customer, but as someone who needed Guirkin, more than Guirkin needed me as a customer. It ended well because neither party has lost. During my initial conversation for an appointment I asked what the $150 service entailed. That question was explained as a general cleaning (vacuuming) and component check. But did not address the reason for my call. I was asked to take it or leave it. I accepted the appointment. Upon arrival I was greeted with the opportunity of signing a waiver or terminating the call. I terminated the call. The waiver freed Guirkin of any responsibility from the possible breakage of the fireplace glass front without the ability to replace the glass. On to finding another service provider. No harm no foul.

Guirken came on very short notice and corrected the issue I was having with my fireplace. Andy was very courteous and professional. I highly recommend Guirken for any and all your plumbing needs!

Guirkin was very helpful for a minor problem that I was having with my hot water heater. I have an alarm box attached to the heater that detects any leaks. It had been going off for a few days, but I didn’t see any water leaking. A service man came out the next day and quickly determined that the alarm box probably just needed new batteries. He changed them for me and showed me how to do it if it should happen again. He was very polite as well as friendly and I will continue to use Guirkin.

Paul from Bell Cow is a delightful young man. He knows his "stuff"; is very courteous, timely, and responsive to problems. I have been very pleased since finding Bell Cow to service my heating and a/c needs! Thanks, Bell Cow and Paul.

Techs were on time, very informative and professional. The gas hot water heater was installed and running in a timely manner. Techs stayed until it was confirmation that everything was fixed properly and hot water was coming out of the faucets.

Super prompt. Solved our AC problem quickly and offered advice to save $ on filters and improve performance. Bell Cow has serviced us twice now for different problems. I would definitely recommend them.

The HVAC tech Rick who came out was very friendly knowledgable and professional. He fixed a sensor that had fallen out of its bracket & was done in no time. I will definitely make Bell Cow our go to HVAC service co.

Very prompt and courteous service. Service is still progress, all issues not fully resolved yet. I had 2 nonfunctional HVAC units. One was an easy fix and solved from first visit. The other one: work in progress. It's below freezing outside, so weather does not cooperate. The tech was knowledgeable, and explained the process and progress. Provide me with clear explanation of findings and proposed course of action. Excellent scheduling and communication including previsit calls and emails. Depending of how things will go I will update my post, but so far I am fully recommending them.

Kevin was the technician that repaired my AC system, it took him only minutes to troubleshoot the problem. He then checked the AC to ensure everything else was good once he replaced the capacitor. He was thorough, timely and professional.

This company is the best company I have ever dealt with! They listen and care about their customers! They helped me when 6 other companies in my area were not helpful fixing a problem! Thank you so much for your help!
