American Home Shield sent United Air Temp to manage my plumbing issues (leaky valve and faucet). Mike showed up on time and was friendly and professional. The work looks great - Thank you!

I strongly suggest you avoid this company. I had the worst experience ever. After scheduling a plumbing service, the technician did not show up and did not bother calling to cancel. That did not happen once but happened almost 7 times!! And every time no one shows up or call to postpone or simply say "I can't make it". I called the company several times and they escalated my calls. They promise the next appointment will be happen but it never did and they never called to reschedule!!
This company has no ethics and no respect to people's time. After multiple times (all recorded) I gave up and called American Home Shield who apologized and gave me full refund after they saw how awful I was treated.
I will never deal with this company, and I will advise my friends and family to avoid it.

Wanted to replace 80g water heater with a 50 through my home warranty company. Add $1257 out of pocket expenses for expansion tank, pan, and disconnect. You can see the breaker that serves the heater if you stand 2 feet away from heater to see out doorway. Craziness for what should have been an in and out replacement. I went to Ferguson and bought a State EDT 80 gallon water heater and wiring conversion kit for $1664 and paid someone $500 to install it. Now my home warranty company only want s to give me $397 cash out option based on the 50 gallon heater United in their quote to AHS. Now I'm arguing with AHS to get realistic cash out option for a 80 gallon water heaters.

United Air Temp was amazing to work with from scheduling to the actual repair. Their staff is friendly, efficient and helpful. It's rare to find a company who is friendly and so accommodating when you set up your appointment. Beyond that, their technician, Orlando came to look at our sump pump - explained everything to us and was back within a week to replace it. He was on time, skilled and fast. Excellent service! Definitely recommend them.

I was given United Air Temp through American home shield (AHS should remove them from their system) my furnace (heat) went out, UAT came out and diagnosed the problem (control board) and ordered the part. When they came out to put on the part, the area manager came out and told me I needed venting and that he blocked my American home shield work order until I got the venting completed and that it was going to cost $2000. This venting was not throughout the house (through floors) and basically was not a $2000 job. Having already been without heat in December and that my AHS has been blocked, I scheduled the venting, though they refused to put in the part until venting was complete until I signed that I would not cancel the venting appointment.
I received three different invoices on the control board work but nothing on my venting work. When I called multiple times to get the invoice for the venting, wanting details of their work. I was verbally told that it included a $400 maintenance plan that I never agreed to. After multiple conversations with that local manager who initially said I could not get a refund, because he gave me a discount on my $2000 Venting work. I did end up getting the refund after going through customer service and multiple talks with him, but they still have not sent me the invoice detailing my work after two weeks.
I feel really scammed by them

The plumber was sent out through American Homeshield Warranty. Explicitly told propane tanks are locked off, we have probably a loose fitting but have to have a licensed plumber for the job. The plumber first didn't call until he was sitting in front of the house, which I had stated multiple times I would not be there since there was no guaranteed time, was told by anyone I spoke to that he would call 30 mins out, which gives me plenty of time being 10 mins away. He had an attitude and said hes pretty sure he called, no proof and I had literally been staring at my phone all day waiting for the call. He said he would "try" to wait for me. Got there, walked into the house with him where again I explained the situation( tanks are locked off, didn't smell propane, propane tech probably a loose fitting at the appliance) to which his response was he is not equipped to pressure check. Walked right out to my tanks, said this looks disconnected, to which I replied theyr blocked off due to the leak. Told me he had to call his supervisor to find out what to do next. Went back to his truck, came back saying the warranty company would call me to send out another company. Warranty company calls and says no, the technician stated the leak was outside the home and was not covered. I stated how did he come to that conclusion when he didn't test anything, touch anything, nothing. Right off the bat was hes not equipped to do anything. Had to pay out of pocket now for a paper to come out and pressure test to find it was indeed a fitting within the home, which would have been covered by my warranty had the plumber actually done something. Zero stars, completely and utterly dissatisfied, frustrated and now broke.

My plumber was fantastic. (David). He diagnosed the issue, ordered the parts and came back and fixed our bathroom sink and water lines. It took him around 45 minutes from start to finish. A+++ experience

Note - please see my updates at the bottom, as I have lowered my score.

The technicians were always friendly, fast, and informative, and I appreciate their help during each visit. However, my experience with United Air Temp as a company has been mixed. On their first visit, some wiring was left disconnected, leaving me without A/C for over 24 hours, even after contacting their emergency line.

I purchased a full service agreement for my old system but never received a copy, and was still charged $185 for a hard start kit—even though the compressor was drawing 90 amps at startup. I reached out about this charge several days ago and haven’t received a response.

I also requested a replacement quote for my A/C. The estimate seemed extremely high, especially considering it only included a basic condenser replacement (no furnace, no duct work), and no system measurements were taken. I confirmed that the furnace was not included, though I was told it “probably has a year or two left.”

In the end, I went with another company who replaced the entire HVAC system—return, furnace, condenser, and more—for only slightly more than United’s quote for just the condenser. The equipment installed was also a more reputable brand with a higher SEER rating.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend United Air Temp, despite the professionalism of their individual technicians.

    Update – August 5, 2025:
I called the number provided in their response to this review and was routed to their general customer service/scheduling line. I restated everything from my original review to the operator (who was very polite and professional, though this should have been handled by someone dedicated to complaints). I was told my comments would be emailed to the main office and that I should expect a call back. It has been 48 hours plus a weekend since that call, and I have not received a response. I will call again today to give them one final opportunity to address my concerns, and will update this review accordingly.

    Update - August 6th, 2025:
I’ve lowered my review to one star. I tried to give United Air Temp the benefit of the doubt and multiple opportunities to make things right. I called again yesterday and was told, once more, that an email would be sent — this time to my local branch — and that a manager would follow up with me directly. Another 24 hours have passed with no response.

At this point, it appears the company has no real intention of addressing the issue. If that changes, I’ll update this review. But based on my experience so far, I cannot recommend United Air Temp and suggest others look elsewhere.

    Update - October 6th, 2025:
Finally heard back from United Air, in the form of a call asking when they could schedule my fall maintenance. I told them no thank you, you have not returned my last 3 calls and I still have open complaints. Customer rep said "okay I'll take you off the books" and did not try to resolve the issue or escalate it, yet again.

I strongly recommend you avoid this company. I have lost over $700 to them I will not see back, and I'm thankful I did not go through with a new system install with them.

The two star rating is subjective due to the repair is not finished and is still non-operational. Have not heard back from the company as to when the repair will be finished nor what parts need to be ordered and when will be received.
Detect seem to be knowledgeable, but there’s no way of confirming his expertise. Again, this is all subjective due to the fact that repair is not complete.

United Air Temp was great to work with this week! The office team was both clear and concise in their communication. Their use of modern technology to automatically notify us via text and email once our home warranty company had approved them to come out was refreshing.

Their tech George, arrived in a UAT truck, on time, was extremely polite and considerate. While a little thing, without prompting by us, put footlets over his shoes each time he came in —which we know isn’t always convenient or easy. Especially when you have a large tool bag, or parts in your hands! He didn’t just assume it was the blower motor, although the indicator lights and signs all pointed in this direction. He went on to quickly open the entire unit to confirm the back hadn’t cracked or were fouled or were failed. They had the correct blower motor on their truck as well as the thermostat which had also failed replaced in a few minutes. He then tested it out thoroughly to make sure the repairs were successful before submitting the claim for our insurance to cover. Thanks again George and UAT!

I had an excellent experience with United Air Temp. I first spoke with the manager Don, who was incredibly helpful and immediately connected me with a representative to get my heating issue taken care of right away. The technician, Daniel, arrived promptly and was extremely knowledgeable—he took the time to explain exactly what was going on with my unit and what needed to be done.
What really stood out was the follow-up. Don personally checked in after the service to make sure everything went smoothly and that the work was completed to my satisfaction. From start to finish, the entire experience was professional, efficient, and friendly.
Highly recommend United Air Temp—truly a 10 out of 10 service!

AVOID! Sold me water heater that requires $300-500 repair every other year. The sales guy ghosted me, won't answer text or calls. No phone number to file a complaint, they will give you the run-around. Stay far far away... you have been warned.

2/13/26: Update - after speaking with a manager to express my discontent, I got a call from salesperson charging me 3x the price for the part (now at $1k+, orginally $360). It just shows how they want to find a "resolution" right away.

I had a leaking garbage disposal that needed to be replaced, and the company did an excellent job from start to finish. Two technicians came out and worked together efficiently to remove the old unit and install the new one. They took the time to explain what was wrong, what needed to be done, and what to expect going forward. Their professionalism, teamwork, and clear communication made the whole process smooth and stress-free. I really appreciated how thorough and respectful they were. Highly recommend!

Great service from Kiyan and his colleagues. They were punctual, neat, professional and explained everything to me before they left the site. Would recommend anytime. Thanks very much!

Our HVAC was on its last legs and Pete made the whole process of purchasing and financing a new one with an air scrubber a breeze. Kiyan installed the system and was punctual and great to deal with. Highly recommend!

So many wonderful reviews - hard to fathom. I was a longtime client of AirPlus. M.E. Flow bought them from what I understand, and AirPlus clients have been sent to M.E. Flow. Made my very first appt with them scheduled for yesterday. Just regular checkup of HVAC and system that Airplus always did for us. Was given a window of 1-5pm. No one ever showed, no one ever emailed or called to keep me informed...even after sending me a text to confirm the day prior. A terrible first impression indeed. When I called (twice) representatives acted as if they didn't even know I had an appt. Then I was told they were running behind. I finally cancelled at 6pm after having to wait around my home all day. I will find another company - not something I want to be involved with here.

Emerson with M.E Flow provides quality customer service. It’s evident he has vast knowledge and experience in HVAC and ensures he informs me of the systems status during & after his inspections. He has performed thorough PM inspections on my AC & furnace.

Furnace installation went quickly and efficiently. Installers arrived as scheduled and promptly went to work and finished by early afternoon. They were courteous and competent, answering all my questions. Also must acknowledge the salesman/estimator who was knowledgeable and did not attempt to sell me any unnecessary [unneeded] items.
    Thank you M.E. Flow!

I wish there was a ZERO rating.... they got me an appointment to cone over and check my AC. Half way through the day.. I get a call form the team canceling me and asked me to book for next week. I HAVE NO AC in the house and its 98F outside. keep in mind I had to cancel Furr who called me with an opening for the same time because I thought we're committed (stuiped me). POOR WORK ETHICS.

Having used other HVAC companies in NoVa, I would easily rank ME Flow as the best. It's a well run company from top to bottom. Their technicians are highly knowledgeable - they out-class the competition in my experience.

Today they replaced an outdoor ground-level a/c unit and indoor air handler within our 4th floor condo. It was a big job that required plumbing, welding, heaving lifting, duct work, etc. Kiyan and crew made it look easy. I am impressed with his professionalism and the high quality of work.

Find another business! I was a new customer for M.E. Flow. I have a Generac PWR Cell that is having issues and was given their info from Generac. I scheduled my technician for a Wednesday, between 8a-12p. Three minutes before 12p, I get a call from M.E. Flow, your technician has had a family emergency and needs to reschedule. Ok, that I can understand but am disappointed. They move my appointment to Friday, same time. Eight minutes before 12p, I get a text message saying my technician is on their way. Twenty-four minutes past 12p, I call asking when the technician might show up. I'm told they are around 30 minutes away. So, now the arrival time is 1pm. I have to leave for work at 2p. I expressed my dissatisfaction with how this is being handled and I should have been moved up the roster since I was already rescheduled. Speaking to their scheduler, I say I will not pay for a service call fee. Scheduler can't do anything about that, only the manager. I ask to speak to the manager. I'm put on hold, scheduler comes back and says one is not available or is out in the field. I ask that Rodney, the manager, call me today. Scheduler tells me that they can't guarantee a call back today, but within 12-24 hrs I should receive a call. I ask, so I'll get a call on Saturday ... scheduler says "No", only during business hours. I ask what are those hours ... oh, M-F. Do yourself a big favor and avoid this business, the customer is clearly going to be inconvenienced.
