Silver Star came to my home at the time they stated and fixed my washing machine within 20 minutes.

All City Appliance "diagnosed" my washing machine wrong and gave the run around for 2 weeks to no avail.

Thank you Silver Star for the professional service and timely manner in which you provided me under such bad circumstances...You saved the day!

I just can't recommend this company to anyone. I made a claim on the 11/10/15 ssa contractor was assigned to be he showed up three days later took my copay and said he was gonna order the part. Never heard anything kept on calling and he's not returning my calls. This is just a horrible company
He took my money and just left for three weeks. No call no show. Am in the process of letting the Better business bureau know what going on.

My washer was in worst condition after Silver Star came out to repair it. There was no leaks before they worked on it. However after they worked on it water ran all over my flooring and caused water damage. They don't return massages and have not done anything to take care of the problem!!! I would not recommend.

There is nothing ‘Star’ about their services. I assume why it named Silver vs. Gold. Absolutely subpar service. Through a home warranty service, this company was dispatched to perform a diagnostic on my washer. The technician did not care to spend much time diagnosing the issue. The malfunction of my washer occurs during full size and normal to lengthy loads; i.e. 45 - 55 minute cycles. I explained the issue that I experience and how it occurs during Rinse/Spin cycles of ‘Normal’ or ‘Bulky’ wash loads. This technician wanted to diagnose condition with no laundry. I impeded that route as one who is logical would know the best way to replicate outcome is to input the same controls. An empty drum is more likely to spin trouble free vs. one carrying the load of laundry. I stopped the technician and advised that clothing needs to be in washer. I noticed he had it on ‘Express’ cycle which only carries a short rinse/spin cycle of less than 7 minutes. He impatiently stated my machine works fine. I insisted on a ‘Normal’ wash as the timing is longer, which creates a continuous noise, banging, and display of loose drum spinning. He did not wish to wait and barely witnessed the real malfunction as he stopped my washer and stated that “all spin cycle lengths are the same in all cycles”. We can all laugh at that one. Nonetheless, after sitting on the floor outside of the washer/dryer closet looking at his cellphone. He wrote up a diagnosis of “make noise when spin” and under ‘service performed’, he input “it is two men job”.
I think this company ideal jobs would be warranty work leads as they are under contract pay and this is likely a quick way to earn $100 or whatever the contracted rate is. It’s clear that a reputation known for quality workmanship is not a concern, nor customer service is a priority.
It would be scary to how many visits it would take for Silver Star Appliances, LLC to fully 1) diagnose 2) repair your appliances; meanwhile racking up unnecessary charges. Ultimately LAZY! Keep looking or GOOD LUCK! Thankfully, I get to go with another company.

We are so thankful to have our microwave and dishwasher working again. I really should have called sooner about the dishwasher, but waited until the microwave was completely shot to call. Both were fixed in a very timely manner. Both appliances are working great.

On 9/21/2014 my washing machine broke and I submitted a work order to my property manager (PM).

On or around 9/23/2014 PM said that Silver Star Appliances (SSA) was assigned the job and would contact me. After much confusion in getting ahold of me, an appointment for diagnosis was made for 9/27/2014.

Between 9/23 - 9/26 I feel I was given the run around, b/c PM stated SSA was attempting to get ahold of me and was leaving voice messages... problem was I had received ZERO messages on my cell or at work.

9/27/2014, they arrive at the absolute end of the appointment window (it was from the middle of the day to 3pm), arriving just before 3pm. They were able to quickly identify the problem but could not perform the repair b/c parts (and time) were needed.

Between 9/28 - 10/10/2014, nothing but the run around from SSA for myself and my PM. I left several messages, both voice and text, and received ZERO replies. My PM was planning on reassigning the work b/c of complete lack of communication on Silver Star's part.

On 10/11/2014, just as my PM was about to reassign, SSA FINALLY contacted me and scheduled an appointment for 10/15/2014 between 3 and 7pm.

10/15/2014, I was at my house from 2:30pm - the rest of the day. I heard NOTHING from SSA and I finally contacted them via text around 6:50pm inquiring if they were still coming... NO REPLY. They finally arrive at 7:20pm to work on my washer, which they knew (and told me) would take 2 - 3 hours to complete! They suggested that they could reschedule but at this point, my day had been wasted and my washing machine had been non-functioning for almost a month! After 10pm the work is finally finished and I am left with scuffed up walls, a filthy carpet, pile of trash and a functioning washer that I need to 'monitor' for 'unfamiliar' noises and/or leaks.

10/16/2014, It seems the washer is functioning as designed and the repairs worked.

Being a renter, I told my PM that if this company is used again... I'll pay for the repair myself and utilize another company. I can understand scheduling stuff, stuff/life comes up... I get it. My last major repair took over a month b/c of scheduling conflicts, as I work very unusual/unpredictable hours. HUGE difference with that repair company and SSA... they contacted me regularly (email, text, v/m, phone conversations, etc.). SSA completely FAILED at communication!

I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

DO NOT CALL THIS COMPANY!! Absolutely the worst service!!!! They were assigned by my home warranty company to fix my oven hood. Technician came out (September 2018) and diagnosed a bad blower motor and control board. The tech said the parts will be ordered and I should hear something the following week as he was at my house on a Friday. The following week comes and goes and no phone call. I call and speak to Ali and he stated that the control board is available but, the blower motor had been back ordered and that it wouldn't be available until October 15th. Once the part arrived he would call back to schedule an install. Oct 15th comes and goes and no response. I call back and speak to Ali again ( it is a cell phone as I can hear his turn signal and sounds of driving) and he states that he will check on the order and call me back. No call back!! I call again and get sent to voicemail. I call again and get sent to voicemail!! I call my home warranty and they contacted Ali and get no response. Long story short, it is now almost December!!!!!! Almost 3 months and now the control board is ordered and the blower motor is in stock!!!! This is the worst repair company ever!!!!! I'm about to cancel my home warranty as well as they are no help either!

Silver Star Appliances texted right away and set an appointment, followed-up with text on day of appointment with Dispatch Me updates and tracking. Diagnosed the problem with our Maytag Gas Dryer, ordered parts and returned as soon as parts were in to install the new parts, again with text for appointment and follow-up Dispatch Me updates and tracking. Tested dryer once the work was completed and everything is working fine.
    - Overall a very good experience!

I received a call from this company within 10 minutes of requesting on Thumbtack. They came the next day a within minutes knew why my refrigerator was at 59 degrees. They explained in detail why the refrigerator was warm and why the icemaker was no longer working. They had the part on the truck and made the repair. Fridge is working like a charm now. The repairman was friendly and kind and assured me he would take care of this issue. I highly suggest you use this company.

They were on time, so professional, friendly, and could explain in plain language what the problem was. They fixed the problem with a washing machine pump they had with them. (I let them know my model when making the appointment.) Additionally, they went above and beyond. I am immune compromised.and was wearing a mask when they arrived. Instead of me wearing a mask, they wore masks so I didn't need to. That was very appreciated. Excellent experience!

Silver Star appliances was able to make two old appliances (each over 12 year old) in my rental house operational again. My LL’s warranty company dispatched Silver Star appliance to diagnose the dryer and the dishwasher in the rental on separate occasions. They took their time properly diagnosing the real issues on their initial visits (happened on different occasions). When the appliances needed to be repaired after parts arrived they quickly scheduled the appointments for them. When the technician came out to do the actual repairs, he was very professional and very thorough. They made sure everything was working properly before they left. Our experience with their technicians was pleasant, we feel that they were very honest and professional during every visit (we had 5 different visits). I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have their appliances repaired by a professional company.

Friendly, highly skilled and knowledgeable, prompt, and reliable! I found Ali a couple years ago looking for a referral for one of my real estate clients, and he immediately impressed me and earned his way to the top of my vendor list for appliance repair. As a real estate agent, I am extremely picky about who I have on my vendor list, knowing my clients expect whoever I refer to be top notch. Ali is the only name on my list for appliance repair, he is very personable, and never upcharges. When I needed assistance for my own washing machine, I called him immediately. He instantly recognized the problem and showed me the symptoms and gave me hinest options for resolution. I will continue calling him for my own personal appliances and refer him out to my clients whenever they have on appliance need.

Only giving one star at the moment while I'm waiting for a call back after leaving two messages. Silver Star subcontracted out my job to another company named Royal Stone Construction that damaged my counter when installing a drop-down exhaust hood on the stove. I'll be glad to update this review once they contact me and replace the damage.

Update, I’ve only spoken with the owner once and that was about a week in an attempt to solve this issue. I was promised to get a return phone call back by Friday and that did not happen. It is now Wednesday of the following week and I left another message today.

Second Update, It's been 11 days since this owner said he would call back to resolve this issue and I've received nothing. I've called a couple of times during those 11 days and left messages. This company obviously isn't willing to make things right when they hire someone else to do the work and your property is damaged. Taking responsibility is the right thing to do, and this company isn't willing to do that. Unless they make things right, this will be my last update and my next steps will be the BBB and legal recourse.

American Home Shield is getting worse and worse every year. They sent Silver Star to fix a dishwasher LEAK. The tech proceeds to open up the electronic control units (WHY??!). They leave and the dishwasher won't work anymore. So they broke the electronics while opening up the control units and blame roaches to cover themselves. Of course American Home Shield backs them. They offered to repair the unit (that they probably damaged) and generously offered to replace the missing kickplate screws for $56! Just the screws. The kickplate itself would probably cost thousands.

    Stay away from both companies.

This company was referred via my American Home Shield Warranty - Hands Down, this gentleman's service was excellent. He scheduled an appointment immediately - he was friendly, professional, and thorough with identifying the issue and what was needed for the repair. He ran various tests to pinpoint the issue and was patient as he ran cycles on the washer. Although the order for the washer would take a week to arrive, he communicated that clearly and as promised he gave us a call to schedule the install as soon as it came in. We also needed a dryer repair, it was a simple belt replacement but while replacing the belt, he saw that the dial on the dryer was not moving properly, he identified that the screw was broken and replaced it - we greatly appreciated his attention to detail and hard work. We would love to do business with him again!

The microwave repair service that Silver Star Appliances supplied, as dispatched by American Home Shield, was excellent. A part needed to be ordered, and a second visit scheduled with two men to handle the diffcult removal and reinstallation of the unit. The technicians were not only very competent and efficient, but also very careful not to damage the kitchen cabinetry surrounding the built-in appliance during removal and reinstallation after repair. I was very pleased with the whole process.

My home warranty company, American Home Shield, assigned Silver Star Appliances to repair my washing machine over a month ago. It has been over 30 days and I am still trying to get my washing machine installed. I have a stackable unit and the washing machine is no longer working but the dryer is. The technician informed me that I could just order the washing machine and that they would install my old dryer on top. He even measured the machine and told me which size I should order. So that was fine and the machine was ordered. The machine gets here and the installer tells me that he cannot install a new washer under a old dryer and that I need to buy a new dryer. So i informed him this is the information that I was given and now what am I suppose to do? So now here we are 30 days late and I am still trying to get this worked out. In the future the technician needs to do a better job of making recommendations that they can not insure are proper policy. So now I am out of pocket over $1500 to fix their mistake.

8/4/2025 - My first review about was submitted sometime in 2024 but I wanted to add on to my review after the owner responded to it. I was going to leave it alone but a year later the company still wants to discuss this issue. On 6/10/2025 almost a year after I left my review, the technician called me to tell me how the review hurt his business. I understand that a small business doesn't want a bad review and now that a year had passed, I was truly over the entire situation. If he would have asked, I would have deleted my review. But instead he called to argue and wanted to go back and forth. I told him my experience was my experience and I have a right to feel how I felt. Now the owner wants to respond a year later. Yes I wrote my review in frustration, which is how most bad reviews are written. No one writes a bad review when they are happy about their service. But to call me almost a year later to fight about something is unacceptable. Had they left this alone I would have left it alone. I wish their business well. Initially the tech was a very nice guy when he came we chatted and he was very pleasant. I just wish the situation would have stayed pleasant.

Forced to use them by home warranty. They are the worst, even among the bad companies that work with home warranties. They love coming up with BS excuses of why stuff isn't covered and then trying to charge you $25 for a screw

Not very responsive. Showed up for repair on November 3rd. "Technician" said it needed a part, two weeks to order, finally installed today and when they left the washer stopped in the middle of cycle with water not draining, almost exactly a month after the first call!! Horrible service!
