I would highly recommend NW Power and Air. Levi, Jordan and Logan installed a whole house generator today for me. They were very efficient, professional, knowledgeable and friendly. They explained everything very clearly and answered all my questions.

Hired the team at NW Power and Air to assist with troubleshooting a new installation and they were fantastic to work with and followed through with Generac to get the warranty fix completed. Highly Recommend!

I have been building, maintaining, and managing datacenters and large generator plants for 20 years. Northwest Power and Air came to finalize a (normal generator) install in my home. They knew exactly what they were doing, were personable and patient, and accommodated my special requests for layout and placement without issue. (They even took all my cardboard!)

Update from previous post: The generator stopped running within a couple of weeks of service. Called NW Power and they sent someone out same day. Replaced the battery and we're back in business. Appreciated their quick response. The repair guy was very nice and respectful. I feel this experience has given me more confidence in the company and I will consider them again should an issue arise.

Heading into winter with your standby generator not working is scary business. During one of the busiest times of the year for generator service, Northwest Power and Air fit us in. The office and technician kept us informed as to the technician’s date and time of arrival. The technician was knowledgeable, informative and efficient. Our generator is running perfectly once again. Northwest Power and Air has a new, loyal customer. I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Avoid NW Power & Air - Unprofessional and Unsafe Practices

I want to share my experience with NW Power & Air to help others make informed decisions. Unfortunately, my experience with this company has been overwhelmingly negative due to improper HVAC installation, lack of communication, and failure to address significant safety and code compliance issues.

Here’s what happened:
1. Improper Installation and Code Violations:
• NW Power & Air installed an HVAC unit that was not compatible with my home and did not meet the safety, efficiency, or performance standards that were promised.
• A professional inspection revealed numerous code violations, including incorrect wiring, improper installation of the exhaust pipe, and excessive static pressure that has put the motor under strain, risking failure.
2. Failure to Pull Permits or Schedule Inspections:
• Upon reviewing public records, I discovered that NW Power & Air did not pull the required permits or schedule inspections for the work, as mandated by Washington State law.
3. Poor Communication and Customer Service:
• Despite multiple attempts to resolve the issue—including emails, phone calls, and online contact forms—I received no meaningful response from the company for weeks. The owner initially assured me the issue would be resolved but has since stopped responding entirely.
4. Unacceptable Resolution Proposals:
• The company offered replacement equipment that has a poor track record of reliability and safety, as evidenced by numerous negative customer reviews. Additionally, the replacement would require additional costs for a proprietary thermostat due to compatibility issues, which I find unacceptable given the circumstances.
5. Refusal to Refund:
• I have formally requested a refund so I can work with a professional, licensed contractor to install a safe and compliant system. NW Power & Air has refused to engage in meaningful communication to resolve this matter.
6. Taking Legal Action
Given NW Power & Air’s complete failure to respond or take appropriate action:
• We are filing a bond claim with State Farm Fire & Casualty Co. to recover costs for the improperly installed equipment and labor.
• We are filing complaints with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) and the Washington State Attorney General’s Office.
• We are moving forward with legal action to pursue damages.

This situation has caused significant stress and disruption to my household, especially given the safety risks and emotional strain caused by the ongoing issues. I have now filed complaints with the Washington State Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) and the company’s bond provider, and I am pursuing additional legal options.

I strongly advise anyone considering NW Power & Air to look elsewhere. Make sure to research contractors thoroughly, confirm their licensing, and verify that permits and inspections are properly handled before starting any work.

UPDATE: After repeated attempts to resolve the matter with NW Power & Air, including requests for a refund and opportunities to address the improper installation, we hired another professional HVAC company to replace the incompatible equipment and install it safely and to code. The difference in professionalism, communication, and quality of work between NW Power & Air and the new team has been night and day.

Despite no confirmation of a refund, we made multiple good-faith attempts to coordinate with NW Power & Air to retrieve the uninstalled equipment. We have received no response, leaving the equipment effectively abandoned.

UPDATE: We just officially logged a complaint against NW Power & Air with the Washington State Attorney's Office and have sent a claim against their bond with State Farm Insurance.

Parker did an outstanding job servicing our generator. Very personable and professional and addressed all of our questions.

Had a maintenance tune up done on my generator. Parker was prompt, professional and explained what he did and what was recommended to keep the machine in top condition.

Our experience with this company was excellent. This is an organized company that understands customer service. From our first inquiry to the final installation.. the staff made the process for us so pleasant. The installers were experienced, hard working and efficient as well as courteous and considerate. They patiently explained the process of use and answered questions. left the property neat and clean. We are very pleased to now have power backup when experiencing stormy weather at the beach!!

Technician called and indicated he was available several hours earlier than scheduled. Pleasant surprise.

The crew that was sent to our house was exceptional and very pleasant to be around. The crew arrived on time and immediately began working. There was one individual that had just hired on and the other two crew members explained why they were doing everything and how to do the job. That was very refreshing to see that they were training this individual to the best of their ability. The job was done in a whole lot less time than what we thought it would take. The operation of the generator was explained very well. Talking with the staff in the office the next day to make sure our power was turned back on was a very pleasant experience. We highly recommend using NW Power ans Air for all your generator needs.

Logen was great to work wit. He answered all my questions, some before I asked. Because he gave me a quick overview of my generator when he arrived. Personable and knowlegeable.

Everything went smoothly, I'm very happy with my technician, he was very patient with me and gave me a tutorial on how my Bocsh mini-split operates. I will definitely be using this company again.

Parker came out yesterday to troubleshoot what was wrong with my Generac generator. He was very thorough and explained to me what he was doing. He seemed very knowledgeable when tracing the electrical wiring. I would highly recommend this company.

Mitchell provided outstanding service in the annual maintenance of our Generac generator. He was very efficient, professional, and friendly. The cost was overpriced.
