I'll tell you hwhat! Buying a new roof can be stressful and daunting, but Gold Shield made it extremely easy and painless.
Taylor walked us through all the options and what would be best for our house, and Dave and the crew executed everything perfectly. Excellent customer service throughout the entire process. Material arrived when scheduled, workers were careful and friendly, and clean up was done at the end of each day.
We liked working with Gold Shield so much that we had them give us a quote on window/trim replacement and will get that done this fall.
10/10 recommend them to anyone looking for exterior work.

This is my first 5 star review but really should be my second. Earlier this summer I had 5 companies come give me an estimate for a roof replacement. Gold shield was by far my first choice. Last week I got a new dishwasher and when installed found some water damage. I called Taylor. He came over the next day and sealed my roof. We are now replacing the roof. He has gone above and beyond expectations. I am confident there are at least 2 more 5 star reviews coming. If service quality and commitment are important to you, I highly recommend Gold Shield.

My house is 20 years old and needs to replace with new roof. Taylor in the team is very professional and looking into each detail of the roof issue. He gave several options and recommended the best one for my roof. I compared his recommendation with 3 quotes I got from 3 other roof companies, finally chose Gold Shield because they provides the best brand quality material, best price and best service. Dave leads the installation team to finish the work in 3 days while it does not rain in the fall. He also replaced the sun roof window and gutter for me with very good price. I am very satisfied with their job. They truly deserve a 5 star and I recommended them to my friendd already.

I reached out to and got quotes from several companies for moss removal/roof cleaning. Taylor with Gold Shield Exteriors was extremely communicative and came out quickly for an estimate. The price was very reasonable and he even trimmed branches and sealed nails. He was efficient and VERY professional. I would highly recommend Gold Shield!!

We were very pleased with all aspects of the job Taylor and David did for us. The gutters were installed with leaf guards to help keep our gutters clean. I’m pleased with the installation and clean up after. They are very nice to work with, and would use them again!

I was very satisfied with the work. The owners explained everything that needed to be done and showed where repairs were necessary. They gave me options and let me choose which one I would prefer. They were knowledgeable and knew what to do. The work was done in two days and looks great. The owners, Dave and Taylor, were very pleasant to talk with and had my best interests as a priority. Taylor came out to help me with my roof. Being a taller 2-story home, I was unable to get to the 2nd story to clean my roof and gutters. Taylor set up shop and made quick work of my debris-filled gutters. He also treated for moss, gave me a detailed update on the condition of my roof, vent boots, as well as a quote to provide leaf protection over my gutters. Very courteous, friendly, and professional. Happy to support this young man and his local business!

Got my gutters and siding replaced after a fail caused a slow water damage to the exterior of my home. Got 4 quotes in total but what stood out to me was Gold Shields, by far the most photos and most thorough, my eaves and fascia were rotting and none of the other guys caught that. I didn’t want any surprise upcharges so I went with them. Fast workers and clean area, did a great job and I got a warranty and maintenance plan which is awesome so I don’t have to worry about it, they’ll just come every few months and clean the roof and gutters and check the siding. Great price, great work, great attitude, 5 stars.

I had the chance to work with Dave and his crew this past month while getting our roof replaced out here in Ridgefield. From start to finish it’s been clear what’s happening on what day and what we as homeowners need to do to prepare for it. I also really liked the folder of images I can keep along with my invoice to share with any insurance company or next home buyer, they even get to transfer the malarkey roofing warranty so that’ll be a great point in case it’s needed. 5/5 stars hands down!

Fantastic Roofing Experience – Highly Recommend!

Taylor, Dave, and their crew were amazing to work with. When we had a leak, Taylor came out right away and did a complimentary emergency tarp job to prevent further damage. He clearly explained our options and helped us choose the best path forward.

They replaced our roof at a very fair price, added intake ventilation to prevent attic mold, and fixed a drainage issue that had caused the leak. They also repaired a rotted rafter, fascia board, and water-damaged siding—handling everything thoroughly and with great communication along the way.

The team was professional, respectful, and incredibly clean—especially thoughtful with our dogs, making sure the yard was safe with magnet sweeps for nails.

They went above and beyond in every way. We’re so happy with the results and highly recommend them to anyone needing roofing work!

We used Gold Shield Exteriors for a complete new roof and skylights along with new gutters. When the October rains started we discovered a leak in one of our bedrooms. Not knowing who to call I searched online and emailed Gold Shield on the basis of their multiple favorable reviews. I had a message the next morning and they found time for Taylor to come out the next day. Taylor spent a lot of time looking over our roof and finding the source of the leak. Even though our roof was only 13 years old I expected to just need repairs but unfortunately we discovered that the contractor who did our roof and skylights previously didn't do the job he said he was and cut many corners. That company is no where to be found now so we decided to replace the roof and skylights along with gutters. It was more than we wanted to spend but that's life these days plus we want to stay here as long as we're able and didn't want future roofing issues. David their project manager came next to review our job. Can't say enough good about the job he did. They started the job within a few days and completed on time in spite of the weather trying to slow things down.
David communicated every step of the way and always returned calls promptly.
Will hire them again if needed!

Great experience! My roof had a few leaks that were in dire need of repair, and ultimately was decided that I should just get a new roof. Once I decided to move forward with working with GSE they put a tarp on my house to get me covered for a couple weeks until the weather cooperated and they could come over and start the project. A crew came over and everyone was professional, efficient, and friendly. They brought a dumpster and really didn't make too much of a mess. They came in the morning and stayed until after dark. They finished in two days, cleaned as they went, and did a final clean up on the third day and hauled away the dumpster. They made it very clear on what was happening. I feel like I got a very good product too. When they were explaining what exactly I was buying, it seemed to be a far superior product than what I already had on my roof. After all was said and done, GSE even credited me back for some unneeded plywood. Overall, I'm happy with the company and the work they provided. Should you have roofing needs, do yourself a favor and give them a call! Thank you GSE for taking care of my house!

The team was courteous, professional, and reasonably priced. Since we needed a new roof in January, they came out the day after we hired them (at no extra cost) to put a tarp over the roof until it was dry enough to replace it. The work was done well; we definitely got our money’s worth. Thank you!

I had a few different companies give me quotes, but I ended up going with Gold Shield because they did a really thorough inspection for the quote (going on the roof to check things out and take pics). I’m really happy with the work David did cleaning the roof and treating for moss, as well as cleaning up exposed nails etc. He was very professional and did a great job. Above and beyond. I needed to replace a roof and some gutters quickly after an unexpected problem. The Gold Shield team was thorough in helping me by providing details of options at several price points. My questions were answered quickly, I felt fully supported in the process.

The installation itself went very well. The team worked very efficiently, using a conveyor belt to load the shingles onto the roof to save time, for example. Any questions I had were answered, the team was good to work with. The outcome is good looking, and all the underlayment (which is an important part of what keeps things dry) was very well done.

It's not everyday that you get a chance to write something great about a contractor experience, but thats where I am today. In the simplest terms, Taylor did everything he said(and more), when and how he promised it. On time, and great to chat with during the quote, was a great start which is rare enough these days. He sent pics both before and after, and made himself available for any questions or feedback, on MY schedule. If you want to get great work, and feel comfortable, informed, and on budget, you can quit looking around, you've found the right company. This might sound like a bit of a plug, and I was asked to write a review if I was happy with everything. As difficult as it is to find quality and value these day, TBH, I'd have posted this without the request. Keep it up, and I'll be back.

We chose Gold Shield Exteriors to replace our roof after obtaining several estimates. We were impressed from the start with the thoroughness of the estimate process.
Taylor arrived exactly on time and outlined what his inspection would entail. He then explained his findings, (with pics), followed by product information and recommendations. The presentation left us educated and confident in what needed to be done.
Dave then called to schedule a start date and began coordinating the project, while keeping me in the loop, and threw in extra efforts and good will.
The crew members are experts, work well together, and are conscientious. They took care to protect non-related surfaces and conducted clean up moments during and at the end of each day.
It has been a pleasure to do business with this company due to the high degree of professionalism, expertise, and the pleasant attitudes of everyone involved.

Gold Shield came recommended by a neighbor so I'm using them to treat moss on my roof. Taylor came out and inspected my roof then walked me through everything he noted, how long I have on key pieces that will need to be addressed, and explained a few different levels and options for getting fixes. He didn't push me towards any particular option and answered candidly any questions I had. You can tell he's experienced and, after having him work on my roof once, I know I'll be going back to him with any work I need in the future.

I got quotes from several roofing companies before choosing Gold Shield Exterior. I’ll be honest, I was initially a little hesitant because they’re a newer company compared to some of the more established roofers in the area. That said, they had great reviews, and every company has to start somewhere right? What ultimately won me over was Taylor. He was very thorough during the inspection, took time to explain everything, and answered all of my questions clearly. I also wanted Malarkey shingles, and knowing they’re a certified installer gave me extra confidence.

Before work started, Dave from operations did a walkthrough, brought shingle samples to finalize colors, and went over any concerns. The crew showed up early, worked efficiently, accommodated my schedule and the weather, and cleaned up thoroughly each day. The roof was completed back in October, and I’m still very happy with the results.

After the job, I shared an observation with Dave and he was very receptive. Taylor also followed up by email asking for feedback, which I appreciated and responded to. That says a lot about how they run their business. I’d definitely recommend Gold Shield Exterior.
