Appliance Repair reviews in Honolulu, Hawaii

Lani was very prompt and customer service oriented. She told me about the washing machine cleaner tablets which I never knew about. I also had a dryer maintenance scheduled for the same afternoon and she tried to find out who was taking care of the servicing so she could do it instead since she was already here. Unfortunately she wasn't able to find out who it was so I had to wait a couple more hours to get the servicing done,

Jeremiah is knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. He diagnosed the problem very quickly. Lucky to have a few needed parts in his van. Completed the necessary repair quickly. Re checking his work prior to re starting the unit for a test run. Thanks!!!

This was an annual maintenance check of my applisnces. The first technician was prompt & worked efficiently; he was very thorough, knowledgeable, found problem areas quickly, & resolved issues, despite the fact that my dishwasher is old(over 30 yrs old). Also he was friendly & accommodating. The same goes for the 2nd tech who checked my washer, dryer, range & range hood. Though the techs were great, my complaint lies w/ the scheduling of appointments, which was so confusing & disorganized. There were “virtual techs” messaging me to offer earlier appointments, which led to techs coming on the wrong day or wrong time of day. Even after confirmation of my appointed day & time, I continued to get offerings for earlier appts which I denied, as it was too confusing. This scheduling problem needs to be resolved, as it wastes people’s time, including technicians’ time — they seem to be well aware of this problem too.

The technician was fine but he did not do anything other than take back the parts that had been sent to me. My review is not of the technician since it's not his fault, rather, my review is of the overall services. My washing machine was first serviced in March, parts were ordered and I never heard from you again about the repairs until yesterday when the technician showed up at my door. The appointment was not booked by me or with my knowledge. I heard from you many times notifying me that my contract was about to expire and at least twice, I told the person I spoke to that if my machine was fixed, I would renew my contract but otherwise, I would not. I could not live without a washing machine for almost 2 months. I assumed it was not going to be fixed so I bought a new machine for 1/2 what I was going to be charged for the contract. During the contract period, I had to also buy a new refrigerator. I did not want to wait for it to completely break down for you to replace it. The leakage that was the problem ruined my floor. You replaced my dishwasher after months of trying to fix it and then gave me an inferior model. So, no, I was not happy with your service. I did return the parts that were sent to me to the technician. The first part came within a week or so of the first visit. The second part came just a week or so ago. I had already replaced the machine myself by then. I will not be recommending your services to anyone.

Ken was gracious & knowledgeable. He walked me through how to care for my W & D which I appreciated.

Jimmy was very helpful but he didn’t have the parts that I had requested which is why I made this repair appointment
He took photos of the parts that I need so could you please send it to me free of charge because this repair appointment is a Free appointment
I was most blessed that Jimmy who cares about customers came to the residence today -
They have come over 5 visits to fix a microwave oven and they are still unable to. It’s beyond ridiculous now. Our technician blames the previous technician without realizing he was the previous technician.

I had a horrible experience with your company. I will not want to purchase any future appliances from your business. I had scheduled a repair for my washer that had a leaky hose on the outside. I had this problem from last December. I scheduled appointments at least 4 times before someone came out to do the repair. The hose for my washer came in quickly. I had to complain to the customer service people which is a call center to India or some place like that. I was upset because despite having an appointment, They kept canceling on me. I had to waste my days off or take off from my job, only to have the repair person not show up.. when he finally came , he took apart my washer and he damaged my washer and it’s not working at all. He also damaged my curtains I had tied to my railings with large rips and damaged one of our legs that held up the sink into pieces. I took pictures of the damages. I was so upset and angry. The repairman left but my husband said he didn’t check it before he left to see if it was working. So my husband ran after him to tell him our washer wasn’t working. We tested it. He told the repair man. He just drove away. We tried to find a store location that was listed in google for an address in Kapiolani in Honolulu, Hawaii only to find out that it closed down maybe 2 years ago. I ended up calling customer service again, only to get a call center in India. He said the department I needed to talk to was closed . I asked him for a phone number to call tomorrow. He gave me a phone number to some scam recording that kept repeating the same message about winning a free medical device for emergencies. I’m so angry and frustrated. I’m not sure what to do? I have bought the protection plan for several years and it’s getting more and more expensive. The service and and quality of good repair man are very poor. Plus having no local stores or places to bring complaints to and show pictures and the customer service call centers are not local. Automated and foreign customer service that give you the run around. This whole experience makes me wish I could go back in time . I should have left my leaky hose. I taped it up and at least my washer would still be working. Now I’m left with a very bad experience and a damaged, broken washer that doesn’t work. Paid for an very expensive protection plan. Damaged curtains I had to spend all afternoon fixing in the hot sun. And a broken sink leg that had to be fixed in our apartment building that we are liable for damages. All because we had an incompetent repair man that was very large and was leaning on my curtains and against my sink leg that caused damages and a broken washer that isn’t working.

On the initial repair visit and diagnosis, 8/21/24, Jeremiah was great. He quickly determined the part needed, scheduled the next repair date for 9/11 between 1:00PM - 5:00PM, and ordered the part to be delivered to me directly. I received the part on 8/27. I had to take a vacation day in order to be home on 9/11. I then began receiving "AI" texts to reconfirm my appointment, later followed by texts saying there was a delay in the part being received and as such my appointment would be rescheduled. I called your toll-free number to advise that I had the part and not to cancel my appointment. I had to do this on at least two occasions with much difficulty before eventually speaking with a human being. On 9/10, I called in to reconfirm my appointment for 9/11. On 9/11, I was home but NO TECHNICIAN ARRIVED. I did not receive any calls. I reached out to Jeremiah and he reported back that my appointment was on the schedule but it wasn't assigned. He added that I would have to make another appointment. THIS MEANT ANOTHER VACATION DAY. On 9/12, I made several calls into Sears and rescheduled my appointment for 10/11. I also asked to be compensated for my two lost vacation days. The best Sears will do is $50.00, which the agent said is stipulated in the agreement. I declined it because I wanted to see it for myself. I cannot find such a stipulation in my agreement. I called back and spoke with another agent who basically said it is not stipulated, it is the best that can and will be offered and that there is no one else I can speak to. My two days of vacation and time is far more valuable than $50.00. I was extremely upset and disappointed with your service. Not only did you miss my appointment, did not notify me that you'd miss my appointment, present false information not expecting someone to actually look at the agreement, I was told there is no one higher that I can speak to other than an agent somewhere in Southeast Asia. This is not the Sears brand or reputation I grew up with. This is bad business. On 10/6, I received a text reminding me of my 10/11 appointment. I replied "1" to confirm but did not receive a confirmation reply in return. On 10/8, I received another text reminder. I replied "1" to confirm and this time received a confirmation reply. On 10/9, I received a text reminder of my 10/11 appointment (there was no request to confirm with a "1"). On 10/10, I received a text stating, "Per your request, your Sears Service Appointment has been rescheduled 10/21 1:00PM - 5:00PM. Details:...". I DID NOT RESCHEDULE MY APPOINTMENT THAT I WAS WAITING A MONTH TO HAVE DONE!!! No one arrived per my 10/11 appointment. Thus, another vacation day of mine was blown by you, SEARS! Your system is terrible for automatically changing my appointment! Attempts to contact a HUMAN BEING to correct this matter was fruitless as all numbers go to your stupid AI system and gives you the complete run around. Fortunately, I was able to plead my case to Jeremiah and he was able to squeeze my repair in today, 10/12. He arrived and was done with the repair in less than 30-minutes. Often, employees are the reason companies receive bad comments or cause a poor reflection on their employer. My situation is the opposite. SEARS is doing good employees like Jeremiah a disservice. He had to listen to my complaints in-person because of your flawed system, Southeast Asia call center response and overall company abandonment of customer service. Jeremiah personally gets 5-stars. SEARS gets 0-stars and loses all of my future business.
Your home warranty service plan is terrible. Potential customers should seriously consider going elsewhere. -
I usually do not leave bad reviews but these guys had to be the worst when working through an insurance company. All their communications were generated automatically through their system via text/email and I was never able to contact them to discuss my inquiries through a real person. To make the long story short, Sears made me wait over a month for them to order a part to fix my refrigerator and ended up just telling me at the end that they never got the part. During this time, their automated system sent me notifications for two repair appointments in the span of 1 month making me miss two work days(half day), which they ended up calling on the day of to cancel.

I would like to commend Edwin for his expertise in checking out the issue in my washer! He is very knowledgeable, pleasant, and took the time to explain the washer issue. Thank you Edwin for all your help and kindness! Take good care!

DO NOT BUY FROM SEARS! Go to COSTCO!
Recently bought a warranty with an oven from sears last year. The oven malfunctioned and needed to actually use the warranty, included setting up an appointment to see it, decide a fix, and a follow up repair appointment.
It’s five months and counting NO FIX. Plenty of no show and poor communication over phone and in person.
Sears will not prioritize appointments with warranties and there are 3 repeated no show appointments. Made an appointment made the regular route, and a technician came, the fix was easy but demanded payment and refusal to do the actual fix. The current rescheduled appointment a few days ago was under warranty but a no show. I guess I can’t eat nor eat my warranty since it’s pretty much a useless peice of paper now.
DO NOT BUY Appliances from Sears AND do not buy Warranties from them.
Go to COSTCO!! -
Technician Ken was excellent. He quickly determined the loud noises and shaking of the washer was due to the suspension rods. He showed me the difference between the old and new rods so I understood the problem. After replacing the four rods Ken checked the drum to make sure it was suspended correctly. Problem solved!
Later when I put a load in the washing machine nothing happened; the washer did not work. I couldn’t talk to anyone at Sears Repair and only got Samantha AI so I had to schedule another appointment….very frustrating! After trying to figure out what’s wrong I discovered the water had not been turned back on. Problem solved and I can wash my clothes! -
Our sears repair man Mr Bowman was great. Repairs and the information he gave us about our Kenmore refrigerator was done quickly. Mahalo me Bowman!

This service issue started about a month ago. We have NEVER ONCE spoken to a live person to explain the issue regarding our GE profile oven. There is only an AI response/scheduler. Because of this, we have had cancellations (pleural !) for our scheduled service calls and threatened cancellations for lack of confirmation for the service calls????. The only reason we selected Sears for the potential and I should at this point say POSSIBLE REPAIR, is we purchased the double oven from Sears when there were LIVE PEOPLE working at SEARS in Honolulu. The first repair team eventually arrived and arrived at a solution that cost us a "necessary oven part" and service cost which we paid. The second repair team arrived 3 weeks later and said that part was not the repair problem and "SUGGESTED" the order of 2 additional parts because the first repair team was incorrect. We are now up to over $500.00 dollars and ONE MONTH without an oven...mind you thru the Easter Holiday!!! all because we STUPIDLY believed that Sears was honest and had a solid reputation if you purchased from them. Well... this communication is being posted on every social site I have, especially here in Hawaii, which means the outer Islands, God forbid your company services Maui...
Your service communication efforts are... horrible. What about the elderly, disabled etc. Your repair workers are so frustrated, they are "going on recorded" with customers regarding your AI managed services and saying they are either leaving your company or finding other jobs! Right now this means nothing to you. You got PAID for NOTHING!!! But you know what " WHAT COMES AROUND, GOES AROUND!!! IF YOU ARE A LIVE PERSON READING THIS REQUESTED EVALUATION, hope you have another job lined up to pay your bills...and home appliance repair costs! -
Bowman was courteous, extremely polite, capable, informative and thorough in explaining the replacement procedure. He also arrived ahead of the predicted time. We hope to have him work on our second refrigerator in the near future.

Ken returned to install the parts he ordered to correct washing machine problem. The washer was not completing the wash cycle when on the “bulky/bedding” setting. I just completed a wash on that setting and the machine is working fine! Ken does great work.

My technician, Mr. Bowman, was courteous, clear with his instructions, and so neat. I highly recommend asking for him to service your refrigerator/ freezer. Thank you Bowman!

It was a total waste of time. Ice Machine hasn’t worked in a year. Guess I’ll be buying ice from the store until I go to Costco for a new refrigerator next time. The Kenmore elite is a joke!!
