The Pen Pal team did a great job designing and installing my mini-split system in December 2025. There was a glitch shortly after installation that Pen Pal promptly addressed and fixed, which tells me they will stand by their work. That is very reassuring since the warranty is for 12 years! I believe you will be very pleased if you choose them for your project.

Edit: Jelijah came out and manually drained the reservoir and cut off the frozen drain line outside and put it in PVC pipe. Not able to find the ball valve on the newer style pump to remove (I guess to prevent pooling)… Hoping the outside changes will fix the issue and it’s not freezing in the attic space.

Service is definitely not 24x7 as advertised. Called in on Sunday when it was 19 degrees outside and my brand new heater system stops working anytime it’s below freezing outside. The office person said I’d get a call back and never did. Called in again first thing Monday (it’s now 22 degrees outside and still no heater). For some reason this system even in heat only mode has the condenser reservoir filling with water, but I suspect a line is freezing or something which causes the pump to run endlessly and kill power to the Ecobee thermostat resulting in no heat at all. Not sure if the line should have been insulated or if it’s pooling somewhere, but this brand new system hasn’t worked on the coldest winter days. This issue was reported one other time about a week or two ago and the service tech that was sent seemed standoffish since it was working when he got here (I suspect something thawed out, was 50ish degrees when he came). I need this system to work especially on the coldest days without shutting off.

They were professional and courteous. Had to adjust the cut of the box for installing my bathroom vent, leading to a slight gap in between the ceiling and the vent that was then caulked over. Not the biggest deal and worth the price I paid, but I will need to go back in and make it look a little nicer. The electrician was very knowledgeable and efficient.

Great service and very professional. The guys were friendly and the company went to Gallup, to replace my furnace. If you need to have your furnace or air conditioner repaired or replaced contact them. Reasonable price and they took my 40 year old furnace. 😄 I highly recommend them to Gallup community. Do not go to any other company. Thank you again for helping us to stay warm.

Paul Cruz and Kenneth Thompson were absolutely incredible. They came out, took the time to really diagnose the issue, and made sure we were okay the entire time. Ours was a tricky situation—two other HVAC companies had already come out and couldn’t figure it out—but Paul and Shaun did. They actually pulled out the manual, carefully reviewed it, and worked through the problem until they found the solution.

What we appreciated most was their integrity, honesty and fairness. Unlike other companies that were trying to charge double and bill by the hour, they kept it straightforward with one diagnostic fee instead of stacking hourly charges. That alone earned our trust. Thanks to them, we finally have hope that our heat will be restored, and that peace of mind means everything.

I also want to highlight the admin/customer service side. Sometimes you get great technicians but poor customer service—this was the opposite. Pen Pals truly delivers on both. The admin team has been incredibly helpful, responsive, and kind, which made the whole experience even better.

Amazing customer service, amazing technicians. We would absolutely choose them again over any other company. Highly recommend — five stars all the way!

Wouldn’t sell me replacement leads to my voltmeter because I didn’t have an electrical license. Waited in line for nothing. Guess my money will go to Home Depot.
