If I could give 10 stars I would. My wife and I own rental properties. We have used multiple plumbing and heating companies in the past. We came across Big Apple because another plumber highly recommended them. We will never use another plumbing/ heating company other than Big Apple. We have used them for jobs big-major gas line installations-- and small-sinks/ toilets etc. Each time they arrive quickly, their workers are professional, their prices can't be beat, the company has the highest level of integrity -at times leaving the site with a "nothing wrong" diagnosis, and their workmanship is of the highest quality. Regardless of the size of the plumbing/ heating job-use Big Apple Installations-and you will be writing a review like this one after you do!

Big Apple is my only call for all my plumbing needs. They are true professionals. Jessica the office manager is a pleasure to speak to, she is very courteous and answered all my questions.

National Grid found a leak and turned our 8-unit co-op's gas off. We called Big Apple, who has been our go-to plumber based on excellent work for smaller jobs. We also decided to go ahead and replace our boiler which was a little older than its recommended useful life. Nick and his crew got right to work and permitted the work, installed a new boiler and replaced the faulty pipe. They got the gas turned back on in less than a week. Amazing! I work with other plumbers at my job, and it has taken at least a month and sometimes many months to get service restored and get the jobs signed off. I highly recommend Bid Apple Installations.

Nick and his team helped me perform some remedial work and clear Department of Buildings violations. They were very communicative, very accommodating, and very helpful in guiding me along the process. Nick laid out the steps, told me what my options were, and his crew performed tidy work.

They understand inspectors' expectations, and excel at coordinating with city agencies and utilities, allowing me to resume gas service in an expeditious manner.

My condo couldn't be more satisfied with the service we received from Nick Rosen's Big Apple Installations. It took over two years from my initial contact with Nick for the condo to raise sufficient funds to replace our six 40+ year-old boilers. Throughout that period Nick was very patient, helpful, responsive, and professional. He also offered a very fair price for the job. Nick ensured that all condo concerns about scheduling and noise were accommodated during the installations last month. Again, our condo couldn't be happier with the service his company provided. Highly recommended!

Used them for 2 major jobs. first a few years ago for a full steam heating and water heater replacement. followed by using them again a two family split air conditioning whole house installation. Both couldn't have gone better. just the nicest smartest most respectful guys. They always come back until the job is perfect. Hire them!
I'm adding to this post now in 2020 -- I had trouble with debris in my chimney, Called them at 7:30am -- they were there by 8:45. Diagnosed the problem, cleaned it out, restarted my boiler. Such a great company!!!
Here I am back again in 2025. Had a leak in the old riser above my living room. Sent Nick an email and he responded right away with a date for his talented team to come and check it out. Had it diagnosed and fixed within the week. Opened my ceiling very neatly and changed out the pipe. I have total confidence in Big Apple and feel lucky to have connected to them so many years ago.

The boiler in my 96 year old mother's house in Flatbush suddenly stopped working during a particularly cold week recently. I helped her find Big Apple Installations and managed the process of getting the new boiler installed from afar (I live in California).

We could not be happier with the great attitude, timeliness, and work quality from this company. They (Nick and Jessica) were helpful on the phone, explained why they chose the brand and model they recommended, and gave us accurate cost and time-to-complete information. In fact, the installation was completed 1 day earlier than the estimate. Big Apple Installations showed they understood the urgency of getting the new boiler up and running.

I called not knowing what to expect but I had a situation that needed to be taken care of ASAP. I called and Nick and Jessica were professional and very helpful. They estimated the job through pictures taken and had a price immediately. The work was well done and neat. The two man team sent were great and on time. The work was done quickly and National Grid has no problem turning our gas back on. Big Apple made a bad problem a great experience and I would use them again.

From beginning to the end, he was answering all of my gazillion questions, assisting with any/and all issues and being 110% present throughout the whole oil to gas conversion process in my home. Any of my friends and family know that I am huge on reviews, this was no different - Big Apple Installations reputation is phenomenal, as soon as I called their main number I got to speak to Nick, who is the owner, no run-around, no BS, straight-up answers to every single question from the actual process, to equipment to DOB approval. He has kept his word thought the whole process and I am happy to recommend his and his team's services to anyone looking for Licensed Master Plumber.

Nick at Big Apple Installations was fantastic to work with. I had two NYC DOB violations, and Nick was able to guide me on how to resolve the issues. He was not the cheapest (something I learned a while ago is that you get what you pay for in construction), and I am very glad I picked him. I needed plumbing work done in the basement. The work was done quickly, efficiently, and the result was impeccable. Communication was fantastic, and this was even though I was in South America while the work was being done. I highly recommend anyone to go with Big Apple Installations for any plumbing work that you need.

During one of the coldest NYC winter nights that we had ever seen we smelled the faint whiff of gas near the gas meter room. Armed with soapy dish water in a spray bottle we found small imperceptible bubbles forming along one of the ridges of the joints in the pipes. Called Big Apple plumbing who had us call National Grid to come and shut off the line. Unfortunately I had called National Grid in the afternoon and they showed up at 6pm and shut off the whole house gas line. No heat for the night, no hot showers it was not well thought out. Nick and his team came the next morning installed all new piping from the inlet in the wall to the gas meter and replaced the headers and that guaranteed a safe and perfect repair. When I called National Grid to come out to turn back on the heat they said next thursday. 7 full days of no heat or hot water??? I told them it was an emergency bc of the -5 degree weather over the weekend. And they said they would try and put me on a 24 hour emergency turn on list. I had mentioned this dilemna to Nick and he made a few phone calls and someone showed up at 8pm and turned the gas back on. Godsend.... His prices were super reasonable. and it was the best decision ever to go with Big Apple. I would not hesitate to call them again. The fact that I didn't have to wait 7 days for heat and hot water on this cold dreary night I am super thankful. Also I was afraid of my pipes bursting... he more than earned every penny. He followed thru with exceptional customer service even after he finished his job, making sure national grid came out to turn the gas back on. Thank you!

Big Apple recently helped me with some DOB violation and permitting issues. That’s more difficult than the actual work sometimes. They had already did my oil to gas conversion, which they did an amazing job on. They not only got my DOB issue resolved but they did it in such a quick amount of time, I’m still stunned. They made a very stressful situation less stressful. They are beyond knowledgeable, professional and reasonable. Most plumbers would have took advantage. They are honest, do great work and know how to navigate DOB. I highly recommend them.

Nick is professional, takes pride in delivering great service, and offers very fair prices. I've used him for three large repairs in our building, and working with him is always easy and straight forward. He will also take time to walk you through any explanations without the hard sell. You'll be in good hands with him.
