Brown Brothers were recommended to me by a friend. I had already had two plumbers look at the problem that either didn’t want to help us or weren’t confident in their ability. Both giving prices that were ridiculous. The problem was the bathroom was clogged somewhere in the pipe so that nothing in the bathroom drained properly.Brown brother came out, I didn’t even have to wait around the entire day, quickly assessed the problem, got right to work, back up and running and just over an hour! Absolutely fantastic. I will be calling them for every plumbing issue we have at this point on.

After a very bad experience with our builder (BuildEx), they came and fixed the multitude of problems we discovered. They have always been prompt and courteous; they respond very quickly (even the day after Christmas for an emergency!) always answer our questions in great detail and help us fully problem solve. I can’t say enough good things about them, would highly recommend.

Curtis, Drew, and Isaac went above and beyond to listen, respond to my individual needs, educate me, and get my new water heater installed! Brown Botters came highly recommended by my neighbors, and I’m so glad I went with them. Not the cheapest, but definitely the best!

Techs came to our home and diagnosed an issue with our HVAC system 2 weeks ago. I've left multiple messages for Brad, the superintendent that handles HVAC and still no response.
For a company that has been in business this long, I would expect better communication.
I do not recommend this company for HVAC, if Brad is the only person that can help.

Mike and Roland were fantastic! It was so easy to get everything booked and someone out to my home quickly. They fixed my problem in an hour and had all my plumbing back in order. I could not recommend Brown Brothers enough!

Really great service and communication. Wouldn't hesitate to use them again. Had 3 water cut off valves installed. Quick and easy.

Brown Brothers provided excellent service. My Technician was right on time. He quickly diagnosed the problem, explained my options, and quickly completed the faucet installation. Highly recommend this company.

Brown Brothers did an excellent job repairing our pipe that the previous homeowner had done some DIY work on. They were diligent, friendly, got the job done, charged us fairly and gave us a write up in case we needed it to dispute a water bill. Would definitely hire them again and appreciate them!

Recently purchased a home in Durham and discovered, after moving in, that the heat and hot water were not working properly. We have radiators and a gas-fired boiler and there was no information about who had installed/serviced the system. We tried 3 other highly-rated plumbing services, who all came out, looked, and admitted they were not familiar with the system and couldn't help. Brown Brothers sent their boiler tech, who immediately diagnosed the problems and the parts needed for the repair. It did take a couple of weeks for the parts to arrive, but he had made an adjustment so we could have some hot water in the meantime. On their second visit, the parts were installed and the systems are up and running. Great work, thanks! Recommended.
(PS they also covered their shoes inside the houses)

If I could give 10 stars I would. I called them out twice in the last couple weeks to my business for different problems and they've been very nice to engage with. Prompt, professional, knowledgable, and well priced service! Thank you!

The valve that controls the water flow to the ice maker in the refrigerator failed and was leaking. The plumber gave us two ways of dealing with the problem, one of which was much less expensive but would be an interim repair. We chose the cheaper version, which works fine.

You couldn’t ask for a more caring company than these guys! Dustin was very compassionate about our issue and sent out a team to evaluate the situation. Big Mike and Issac were both professional and through thru out the installation process of our water heaters!
Thank you! BTW.. all the staff at Brown Brothers are all so caring and professional!

Luke did a fantastic job removing an unused radiator. Very meticulous and skilled. Happy with the work done.

I did have to work much harder than I felt I should have to get the initial estimate completed (not Luke) and I feel what I ended up paying was 50% higher than it should have been. $2900 for 8 hours of labor and no new parts seems very over priced.

Michael and his helper did a wonderful job replacing old pipes under our 1840's house and basement also replaced sink, faucet and supply line in laundry room. My husband and I really appreciated all their work. Definitely go to business for plumbing and heating.

I called BB and the dispatch told me $115/hr, have your credit card ready. Ok, np.

Tech showed up quickly - I was happy about that. Seemed knowledgeable. He found the leak and then "found" another problem with the hvac which he fixed without asking (and charged me for) and also broke a part which thankfully I had a spare on hand otherwise he'd have to go to the "supply house" where I'll be paying $115/hr for him to drive to.

But here's where it goes south.

He told me the total was $421. That's was surprising considering he was onsite for 2.5hrs and $115X2.5 is less than $300. He started stammering about trip charges and tax so I asked for an itemized invoice.

He looked at me and said he had to call the office. I found it strange that this seemed to be an unusual request. I received the invoice 30 minutes later and was charged for 3.25 hours.

I asked why and he said I have to pay for his travel time (that is understandable) but its charged at $115 per hour from when he's dispatched to when he arrives. So however long it takes them to drive, I pay for at a tech's rate. That doesn't seem reasonable. Tech said I had to pay for gas. okayyy

I called the office and they said I had to talk to Brad. Brad called me and said they use GPS and the tech was at my house almost 3hours plus 30 minutes travel time. I told him that 30 minutes of that was trying to get an invoice.

Brad took of the .25 overcharge. I was also charged $18 for a bead of silicone ("material") and the technical took the valve he removed and I had to get that back.

Not a great experience with unclear billing. Travel time is a money grab if its from wherever he's coming from (I don't have an issue with travel costs, but pay $115/hr (plus tax) not reasonable.

Quality of work was ok except for tech breaking a part and then telling me I had to pay to fix it.

If I need additional work, I will use someone else who is more clear on what their charges are.

Tray was able to come the day after I called, arrived on time, and replaced our disposal quickly and affordably. Definitely recommend.

They ended up not doing any work because we needed different service than what we originally thought but they were very helpful and responsive nevertheless and advised us on what services we should get and referred us to a provider.
