Appliance Repair reviews in Columbus, Ohio

Be aware! This company is NOT registered with the BBB or Angie’s list!
I have had Isaac at my house 3 times in the past 2 weeks to fix my refrigerator. Each time he has had to call another colleague to address the problem. It started out as “I think your freezer just needs thawed out”, "if this doesn't work, then we will replace this..." so on and so forth. My refrigerator went from not cooling down completely but the freezer worked great (compressor and fan running fine) to NOTHING working at all! Nothing works except the light when you open the door! After having "the problem" fixed. We have called multiple times, and keep getting the response of “Manny will call” you back, when we ask for mannys number… we are not allowed to have it. They are giving the typical run around if “the board is faulty from distributor etc etc etc.”, "my understanding was you were going to call me” Communication is horrible. I am now out the cost of the “repairs” and diagnostic fee for something that was never diagnosed in the first place, the food in my fridge and freezer twice, and days of dealing with this company! If I could give them zero stars I would!
Ps: I also found out that the address listed on their website is not accurate (that’s a lie too) it’s actually 464 east Main Street Columbus Ohio. -
My home warranty service referred me to them and advised they would contact me. I ended up calling them and still never received a response. Bad business. if it’s too much for you, remove yourself from the Home WARRANTY rotation. Not a satisfied potential customer. A simple phone call as to when I should expect you goes a long way.

They sent out a very young man who was obviously not qualified. After an hour he decided he had it figured out. Replaced a part, two hours later and it still wasn’t working. He was constantly on the phone with another tech. They then told me because the timer was making a noise, that it always makes, that the timer was bad as well. Which is not the case. They were taking a stab in the dark and saying it was another $150 part with absolutely no idea. The repairman was polite, but that was it. 3-1/2 hours in my house, replaced a part that may or may not have been bad. And told me it was something else as well. A competent repairman may not have been able to fix it but he sure wouldn’t have spent 4 hours and gotten absolutely nothing accomplished. This company is either incompetent or unethical for charging to do nothing but waste my time.

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! ZERO STARS. I called to speak with the technician for my washer however I unfortunately got a man that answered the phone that sounded like he brought his kids to work. There was so much background noise it was hard to hear or understand him. I was asking questions about my service and if he had the technicians number so I could call them to ask them myself since he was unaware on a lot of things and he got frustrated and hung up on me. I called back because I still didn't get my questions answered or knew where the technician was and sadly got him again. I will not be calling back. They need to do better with customer service.

Our dryer heating element died, so we called, Columbus Appliance Repair for service. We received an appointment and a gentleman arrived on time with his son ready to work. They diagnosed and repaired our dryer within an hour. They also cleaned up well after completing the job. They were very professional and courteous. Would highly recommend their services for any homeowner looking to keep their appliances working smoothly.

Great first experience! Columbus Appliance repair was able to come out and fix my dryer. It was done at a reasonable price too! I loved that he explained what they issue was and fixed it all in one day. I will definitely call them if I have an issue with any other appliance. Thank you!

We have used Columbus Appliance Repair at least 2 times in the past 6 years and our experiences have all been stellar. Wait times for appointments were quick, service techs come at the scheduled time and our repairs seem to be diagnosed properly. I will continue to use them for all our appliance issues.

Great service, came out the same day, which was a Sunday and didn't charge an arm and a leg! Even followed up to make sure all was good and working well.

Very much appreciated the as service done by Columbus Appliance Repair! I called and they were at our home within an hour and some change. Evan, our tech, was very helpful and professional. We had a washer issue and all it was, was sock stuck in the upper lip area which did not allow the system to spin or run a cycle. He was in and out and it didn't cost us anything near what I thought it would or even a new washer. Thank you!

Have called multiple times, keep getting the I'll call you back, the board is faulty from distributor etc etc etc. Calls not being answered, "my understanding was you were going to call me".....quit dodging phone calls. Communication is horrible. Do not advertise you can fix something or do something if you can't or don't want to. Don't waste people's time or money. This is 4 days off of work for a service you provide but don't deliever on.
This is the "repair" we received. -
I had a service call (the week before Christmas) as my 4 year old washer stopped draining mid-cycle. I was willing to pay the $100 service call fee in the hopes that a repair would be relatively minimal on top of that. They diagnosed that the control panel was bad and needed to be replaced....a ~$500 part. I had to decline and cut my losses - I sold it at scrap price to a gentleman that was able to run diagnostics and confirm the control panel was still good and it was actually just a DISCONNECTED WIRE to the drain pump.
Unfortunately, I had to buy a new appliance to replace it in the interim....now I feel as if they were attempting to hoodwink me, either due to incompetence, or they were trying to make more $ in labor. Either way, it screwed me big time. -
We can’t say enough good things about Capital City Appliance Service! Every time we’ve used this company, the communication has been excellent. Our repairman, Jerry, has always been professional, knowledgeable, and overall fantastic to work with. We especially appreciate the accurate and specific time frames they provide — no waiting around all day — plus the helpful text reminders. We highly recommend Jerry and Capital City Appliance Service and will absolutely call them for any future needs!

The tech that arrived identified himself immediately and he was on schedule.
After working on our washer for a bit, he discovered the cause of its failure. It was a circuit board and he ordered it while still in our laundry room.
He estimated one week for his return, but however he got back here in about 3 days. Which was definitely appreciated.
He replace the failed circuit board promptly. Then he ran a series of tests on our washer to be sure there were no other problems with it.
His work, professionalism, and politeness were all great. It has been a couple of weeks since his repair, and quite a few loads of wash. Everything has been fine.
I totally recommend Cap City Appliance for your Appliance repair needs. Thank you -
We had the pleasure of working with technician Joshua D. for an ice maker repair/replacement. He was prompt, professional, had a friendly demeanor and answered all questions. Highly recommended!

It was a good experience with Capital City Appliance Service. They missed and issue on the first call but quickly took care of the problem. I would recommend them to anyone!

Why can’t every tech be as outstanding and professional as Darron????.
Had the PLEASURE of dealing with him twice.
Such a gentleman!
My ice maker motor broke, by the way. -
We had a service call from Capital City Appliance Service the other day and Scott was our technician. We had recently purchased a Maytag washer from HD and it wasn’t quite performing at its peak. Lots of noise and moving around. Not sure what magic Scott did but we couldn’t be happier, THANKS SCOTT!!!

Appointment easily scheduled. Technician arrived on time, determined the problem, & provided all the information we needed to correct the circuit breaker issue. Very pleased.

Capital is the bomb! Most efficient, effective and professional repair service I’ve found. Technician got out here quickly, diagnosed the problem and fixed it. A super service experience for me and I plan on calling them anytime I need appliance service work.

I would recommend Capital City Appliance Service to anyone. I was very pleased with how soon I was able to be scheduled. I appreciated the pre-appointment texts, the call from the service repairman when he was on his way. He was friendly and professional. He did an excellent job on my appliance. He was able to pinpoint what was wrong with my washer and had the replacement board in his truck. Now that is top notch service.

Had a service call a few months ago for a GE dryer warranty claim. The guy who came out was extremely pompous and pretentious. He misdiagnosed my dryer as having home electrical voltage supply problem. After finally having an electrician come out; there is NO problem with my home wiring supplying the dryer and it is the dryer itself causing a voltage drop.
What I'm saying is: Capital City Appliance service came out to perform a warranty service, was rude, incorrectly diagnosed my problem, and forced me to pay for a service call that was never needed, all while my dryer STILL DOESN'T WORK.
