Came out and point out the outside unit was frozen and the filter was clogged and proceeds to tell me the thermostat is the cause of the outside unit and wants to charge $100 for a $30 thermostat. The thermostat works just fine, it was the way it was wired and the outside unit isn't even required for the heater to operate as I've had it disconnected since and will deal with the wiring later. I would have thought the "expert" would have noticed it was not a heat pump system and the switch on the thermostat was switched to heat pump. At least the guy changed out the filter but the proposed solution was just to get more money with an unneeded step and could have been resolved with flipping a switch and potentially rearranging the wiring.

Very pleased with the new High Efficiency furnace, the work was professional and done promptly. City inspector said he was impressed with the job also. Great company to do business with.
