HVAC reviews in Chattanooga, Tennessee

My A/C went out in the middle of the night during this recent heat wave, so I called Rivertech first thing Friday morning at 8am. The office staff was very friendly and assigned a technician to come check it out between 1p - 5p the same day. The technician text and was on the way by 11:30am. Adam was my technician and he did an awesome job! Replaced the capacitor and inspected the entire system to make sure the issue was resolved. He was very professional and friendly, went above and beyond to make sure everything was working 100%. Highly recommend these guys for any heating and cooling issues.

UPDATE: Since my initial service call, I’ve had multiple technicians and the service manager visit my home repeatedly. I’ve also paid an additional $300 for a repair that, according to others in the industry, should cost about half that. Even with these repeated visits, they continue to insist there’s no issue and that my system is functioning as it should. Yet, after each "repair" or "adjustment," my system only works briefly before failing again within a day or two. After numerous visits and no lasting solution, I cannot recommend their services. I’m left with an unresolved issue and will likely need to explore other options to get my system properly repaired.
I can’t comment on the quality of the service, as I wasn’t home during the technician’s visit. However, I was informed they spent the entire time on a personal phone call discussing CBD gummies, which I find unprofessional. Additionally, I received a bill with no explanation of what was reviewed, checked, or completed. They claimed that they ‘didn’t have my phone number’ and therefore couldn’t contact me to discuss details of the visit, which seems questionable as I provided it through their online submission form. Their service fee is $95, which wasn’t disclosed upfront and is on the higher end compared to other companies in the area. Just something to keep in mind if you’re considering scheduling with them. -
My wife and I needed some work performed on our HVAC unit. Rivertech was a great choice. Easy to make an appointment and Grayson, the technician, was really nice and knew what needed to be done. The work did not take long. He replaced the fan motor and the HVAC unit works great again. Will definitely be using Rivertech in the future. Thanks for the help!
It was time for our HVAC unit to be serviced on 6/26/2025. From scheduling to having the maintenance completed it was fantastic. Rivertech always does a great job. Anthony, the technician, was very nice and friendly. He explained everything that he needed to do to the HVAC unit to make sure it was working correctly. I would recommend Rivertech to anyone who needs HVAC maintenance or repairs. Thanks for the help! -
Rivertech came through for us this winter after our warranty company (Choice Home Warranty) and the HVAC vendor they hired (SOS Residential and Commercial Repair) committed fraud against us and left us without heat in our home.
Rivertech jumped right in and was very generous with us. They literally saved my family.
We will recommend Rivertech as the first choice for all heating and air needs. -
Rivertech replaced our old chewed up flexible ductwork 6.5 years ago with metal ductwork and did a super job. Two years ago, we had them replace our hvac unit and we were very pleased again. Today, a tech was out to perform yearly maintenance, and he was very helpful with answering some questions I had about our unit. They are reasonable and I am very happy with this business. I recommend them highly.

They’ve taken care of our home for years. Always been great to work with.

Update: after calling the after hours number the tech did show after 8 pm. I greatly appreciate him following through with service and return of the equipment. I would have appreciated a call from one office staff before 5 pm, however I’m thankful for a dedicated service person committed to his customers.
No call, no show today. I was told we’d have a tech at our house between 1 and 5. We rearranged plans to ensure someone would be home. At 4:15 I called the office to validate and was told we would still be seen today. I do not mind plans
Changing. That is understandable, what is not ok is no notification of a no show. At 5:15 I called the after hours line to see if there had been an issue or if we needed to reschedule. By 6 pm I still have no communication. -
Rivertech H&A is absolutely awesome! They just installed a new Trane heat/AC gas package unit today and the installers were so professional and knowledgeable. I asked about a condensation pipe that was dripping onto the foundation basically and causing a semi-large runoff hole in the surrounding soil. The installers said it wasn't the pipe for the unit they were replacing but the upstairs AC/heat unit but they went ahead and added a little bit of PVC pipe to push the runoff away from the foundation without me even asking them! Plus, they gave a nice new coat of paint to the very rusty gas pipeline and made it look brand new. A+ service for the installers. My new Trane unit looks beautiful (if you can call a heat/AC unit that), looks solid, and they left the area around unit better looking than before they came.€
Don't want to leave the office out of this review so I'm giving them a shoutout. Jennifer did many followup calls with me when I was still in the phase of getting estimates from several local companies. She met AND beat their competitors on price and customer service!
I have an aging upstairs AC/heat unit and I know exactly who I'm calling when it's time for that replacement. -
This company and their employees are top notch, very knowledgeable and great to work with. They do all of our work at a building we own!!!

They used to be a great company with a great reputation that’s why we used them for our install. But they Lied about our warranty, we should have had a warranty on parts but they didn’t register or something with Trane that we were stuck using them for the repair and they charged me double of what 2 other companies quoted me. I was shouldn’t have used them but I did and I regret it. This is the 2nd time they have done this to us.

Last year I had a pretty frustrating experience with another HVAC company. So this summer I reached out to four different companies to try and find someone better. I’m really glad I found RiverTech.
Right from the start their communication and professionalism stood out. They were on time every step of the way, gave me a fair price, and installed a solid system. They even fixed a bunch of things the last company had done wrong. The quality of their work was a big step up.
One thing I really appreciated was how they handled the delivery. Because of the slope of my property, all the other companies said I’d need to pay for a crane or special equipment to get the unit in. Some quotes added between 800 and 1600 dollars just for that. RiverTech simply brought a few extra guys, carried it in by hand, and never tried to tack on anything extra. They just got it done.
My old system had completely failed, and they got the new one in fast. Everything went just like they said it would. They showed up when they said they would and followed through on everything.
Later on, when I thought I had another issue, they came right out and found it was just a breaker problem, totally unrelated to their work. But they still took the time to check it out and point me in the right direction. That kind of honesty and quick response meant a lot.
I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend RiverTech. Great service and great people. -
Our HVAC unit stopped working yesterday (a friday) afternoon. Out landlord called rivertech and they were able to send someone on a saturday. AC is pretty vital as this point of summer for our english bulldog. Everything got check rapidly and fixed in 30 minutes. Adam was very prompt at diagnosing what went wrong, changed the connector and adjusted the freon level. Couldn’t be more grateful!

I can’t say enough good things about RiverTech! They were friendly, professional, and incredibly knowledgeable. After having a different company come out and “fix” our AC for $2,000, it went out again just 3 weeks later. That same company returned only to tell us the whole unit needed replacing — quoting $12,000–$14,000 but generously (eye roll) offering to credit our $2,000 toward it.
We decided not to go with them and instead called RiverTech. Best decision ever! Within 48 hours, they had a brand new unit installed — and at a fraction of the outrageous price the other company quoted.
Highly recommend RiverTech for all your heating and air needs. They’ll save you time, money, and frustration! -
We had 2x HVAC units moved from the back to the side of the house. Overall good job. We had to have the technicians come back out to address: The insulation of the copper pipes and the wrapping of the electrical wires was incomplete. Additionally, the pipes needed to be secured better. I would have given the firm a 5 star rating except for the fact that we had to point these items out to the firm.

Let the pictures pretty much tell a tale...
Quality is job #3. In my opinion
If it's not available at the local supply house, it may need to be made with tape and duct butter. They didn't have a simple "Metal Break" at the shop to make a duct cap needed.... this install was back in August, so, maybe, they put some Miami money towards one.
Gob of glue should hold that condensation drain (that's barely in the coupling) together for a while...
About 10 degree indifference 1st floor to second... there was to be a damper configuration.... but that's not going to happen. Not by them.
I have called, I have gone by their office... my customer released funds 100% a week after they started unfortunately, they paid upwards of a premium $ (did I mention the 2 day job took more towards the 3 months). Pictures are dated stamped... have a few more, maybe 50.
Needless to say, I have repaired/completed what I believe to be satisfactory work, not myself a certified HVAC tech 😉 but, not hard to figure out cool air in the attic, in the summer... may mean you need to turn the wrench once more.
My customer will have to pay another company to balance the airflow..... about to turn the house back over to them.
They may try to cover this review with a convenient "WE had no knowledge of this", but the girls in the office know me 😉.... Rico's maybe apprehensive to make a call back... and I'm a pretty easy-going guy, but I expect what I give... quality...
The last day, the young techs asked me if there was anything else that was needed.... I smiled nicley, turned the question, and said "If your done, your done.
You see, after that many trips/time, I knew that I would not see anything better, and honestly, I don't typically have to stay involved when I hire a trade to do their specific trade.
There's some good reviews for these folks, but I'm leaning toward straight foward easier installs (cookie cutters), and not many crawling around to really see the finished product.
So Rivertech, I wouldn't fight this review.... I can't make this up... Kodak's got it.
But I guarantee it will make you look at your next one a little harder.... maybe, hopefully, idk... -
Great service. Punctual. Good communication. Had a new 4 ton Trane "Choice" unit (one step above builder grade) installed to replace an older unit. Installed within a couple days of quote! Caution to inspect closely... Connected new condenser to existing 40 amp breaker when the tag stated 35 amp max (changed to 30 amp). Gas pipe installed overlapping evap coil cover, so it wasn't accessible (relocated), but valve handle was mangled, and installed upside down (we fixed it). Tstat was not Trane, and not legible with very small numbers (replaced with Trane). No manuals, or paperwork. "Fan On" position didn't move any air (adjusted)
Gas line moved, . All issues resolved promptly with a couple service calls, but a little odd they don't have more experienced installers, or quality control.
Hope this helps those with new installs in the works!! Love the Trane!..so far:) -
Southeast Air installed a unit for my mother in law and did an outstanding job. Showed professionalism during the whole process! Then two days later actually called to follow up on the install and asked if we had any other questions! I would recommend them to all my friends and family!

Rick came out to my house, found the issue right away. Very respectful and if I have a problem again I’ll be asking for him.

Great experience! They came to our business within an hour of calling them. The technician was thorough in explaining the problems, went to work on them immediately, and stayed until he knew things were running properly again. Highly recommend !

I was seriously in the dog house with my wife and daughter for dropping the ball to have my AC repaired for a major family event. I called One Hour Air early in the AM and they had a team out to my home within a few hours. They fixed my AC, tested the system and were just fantastic. I rarely leave internet reviews but this company deserves my time to write a review for them. I highly recommend One Hour Heating and Air Conditioning.
