On April 9, 2025, Nico Thompson came to my home to check the new Moen Leak Detection Device that I had installed by Ongaro in December 2024. I was dissatisfied with the way this initial device operated and asked that it be checked by an Ongaro technician. I was very pleased when the company sent Nico Thompson who knew exactly what my new system needed. He kindly explained the device and why the flo technology kept sending warnings.
He called the office to set up my requested date to install a pressure stabilizer. I asked Nico if he would be the tech to return and he promised that he would, which I much appreciated. He came back right on time the following week and installed the needed part and once again patiently explained the process and why the system was needed. Most grateful to you, Nico Thompson!!
I have been a customer of Ongaro and Sons for many years and would highly recommend this company.

On the recommendation of a family friend, I hired Ongaro and Sons this past December to replace my HVAC duct work. The workers spent two days at my home removing the old ducts and installing new ones. They assured me that the work was done to a high standard before they left.
Upon inspection in January 2025 by the State Housing and Urban Development inspector, he informed me that he found several issues to be unsatisfactory, and this work did not pass inspection. I was stunned. Not only did I pay a premium price for this product and work, but I was assured it was done excellently by the installers at Ongaro and Sons. This was not true, according to the State Inspector.
Ongaro and Sons had to send workers out to my home two different times, for a total of six hours to fix all the issues that did not pass inspection the first time. Upon reinspection, the work finally passed inspection.
I am thankful that I had this State inspection to discover that the work done at my home was unsatisfactory. Otherwise I would have believed what I was told by Ongaro and Sons, that everything was done very well. This was not true.
I would not recommend Ongaro and Sons and will not be using their services in the future. If I could give negative stars I would!

We have been using Ongaro & Sons for quite a while. From replacing our furnace and the gas line from the meter to our house, we just had 2 electric panels replaced. Alejandro Cassino and Ron came over and did an amazing job. We've had nothing but great experiences from everyone at Ongaro and our recent interaction was exceptional. Alex and Ron were thoughtful in where they were installing various parts of the upgraded panels and grounding making it less obvious. We are thrilled to be Ongaro customers!!! They do fantastic work.

Chad Ward, Electrical Project Coordinator, is awesome. He was very creative and innovative with some electrical challenges in our unit and was very diplomatic regarding a recent customer service challenge. He is a skilled professional in all aspects of the word and does more than just getting the job done. He is a person that Ongaro should be delighted to have on their staff!

I was very happy with the work performed. The technician was friendly and polite. The 3 stars pertains to the billing. I had a leak coming from the shower faucet and was told there was a $79 trip charge, and the technician would then assess the situation which was done. The technician told me I needed a new cartridge in the shower valve. He had one in the truck and this was done in under 45 minutes. I received a bill for $671. The part is approximately a $50 part. There is no hourly fee, and customers are charged a set fee based upon the services provided. Make sure you get a detailed estimate before agreeing to any work.

I recently hired Ongaro & Sons for electrical work throughout my house. Their service was nothing short of excellent! The turnaround from my initial call to the completion of work was lightning-fast, and every person with whom I interacted throughout the process was so professional, courteous, and attentive. Sal correctly diagnosed and fixed our leaky kitchen faucet. It was improperly installed and required some real detailed work to install new faucet. It doesn’t hurt that he shows up on time and is tidy. Hats off to Ongaro.

Geno Boccaleoni has been our latest Ongaro and Sons radiant heating technician. (We've used them since we moved into our home in 1971). Gino has been transparent in the need for our latest boiler's repairs, taking photos of the areas needing replacement He's always promptly on time, highly professional, competent and keeps the area clean. Due to Ongaro's good maintenance, we've had very few problems with our heating systems.

I requested an estimate from Ongaro & Sons for replacement of my 25 year old gas furnace and air conditioner with high efficiency units. Nicholas, an HVAC supervisor for Ongaro, did a complete inspection of my system and made excellent recommendations for replacement units. Nicholas was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and thorough. Ongaro & Sons has an excellent reputation for quality work and I was pleasantly surprised that Nicholas' bid was very competitive compared to the other estimates I solicited for my HVAC project. As such, I selected Ongaro & Sons to install replacement HVAC units in my home. The install process started with a site visit by Aaron, an Ongaro project coordinator. Aaron reviewed the project in detail and determined materials and personnel requirements. He explained how the installation process would work and what I could expect. A few days later, Mark, the site lead showed up with his team of Tyler and Daniel. They installed my new Trane 97% AFUE high-efficiency two-stage gas furnace and Trane two-stage heat pump, which was configured only as an air conditioner. Since I don't have solar yet, it did not make sense to go all electric with the heat pump operating both for heating and cooling. However, I have the option to run a duel fuel system in the future with a simple wiring change. The project included replacement of the crawl space ducting, which had been damaged by a rodent infestation. The team removed the old ducting, cleaned up the crawl space area (including liberal use of Simple Green cleaner/disinfectant, a nice touch) and hauled away the refuse prior to installation of the new ducting. The entire job took two and a half days. During that time, I was very impressed with the efficiency and demeanor of Mark's team. In addition to being a consummate veteran professional, Mark is a very personable guy and his attention to detail is unwavering. Needless to say, our new HVAC system is outstanding and we are extremely pleased with the outcome. As a retired engineer, I was totally impressed with the technical aspects of this project and with how Ongaro & Sons run their business.

Chris came out to check my furnace. He was a wonderful guy on Christmas Eve. Dominic and Ethan came out to install the new furnace. Couldn’t have been nicer neater and more polite. kudos to your employees and thank you so much.

We have a faulty hard-wired smoke detector system and Corbin helped me figure out the best options to fix it. He was super thorough and reasonable. He also gave me some pointers on a lighting issue I have. It was a great experience!

I needed help from Ongaro and sons twice over the last two weeks. Once for a HVAC problem and once for a plumbing problem. On both occasions their technicians arrived on time, knew their trade, and resolved the problems. Nicholas Nielsen repaired my furnace and got it running properly (nice to have reliable heat during winter) and David Weatherly repaired a faulty copper connection to my irrigation system and got that system back to good operational status. Both men were professional and competent. I would call Ongaro and Sons again for help without hesitation and with confidence in their way of doing business.

Since moving to Marin county in 1985 we have continually used Ongaro and Sons for our HVAC, etc. needs spanning 3 different homes. They have been consistently superior in every way-always professional, friendly, timely, and trustworthy. Most recently our older HVAC system was entirely replaced. The difference has been astonishing with efficient cooling and cost saving changes. Thanks to the great crew of Mark, John, Tyler, Kevin, Dom, Maxwell Brandon, Nic and others I’m unable to name. The experience has been exceptional as I’ve come to expect over the years. I’d never consider anyone else for home maintenance needs.

First-time customer with Ongaro & Sons and received great service from Joshua V. I needed a second opinion for my older furnace, which had a possible compromised heat exchanger. I needed to know what is the true level of urgency to get the furnace replaced. He was very friendly, very articulate and knowledgeable, and 100% honest with me and told me exactly what I need to do going forward, and helped me to formulate a plan that works perfectly for me. I felt a wave a relief having all the correct information and a good plan of action. I really appreciate the clear explanation. Very reassuring. I am switching over to Ongaro & Sons!

I recently called Ongarro and Sons about a tricky problem involving an intermittently operative stove and a balky breaker box. Their technician, Rene, sorted everything nicely and (bonus!) taught me a lot about how electricity works. [This is not so dumb as it might sound. I always expect techs to be able to explain in language I can understand just what they're up to.] I would call on her again in a second, and indeed I'll be doing that after the holidays for a comprehensive electrical inspection. Excellent job!
Ongaro and Sons: definite keeper.

Buyer beware!! I have no idea how this company has a high rating. I would say my experience with this company is they were dishonest at best and unethical at worst.

To start, we called for an emergency service on our heater that went out on a Thursday and they said they couldn’t get to it until Tuesday (not sure how that is emergency service). When the tech got to our house they tested a few items inside on the thermostat and outside on the unit. Seemed like the kid was new because he was outside on the phone diagnosing the issue. Came back with some pictures which they obviously use as the scare tactic that the tech claimed the unit looked rusty (it was not, it was dirty but clearly not rusty) and cracked (it was not, those are welding lines) which could “be leaking carbon monoxide in my house “ , told me my unit was going to give out soon. He then proceeded to tell me that we should get a new unit instead of prolonging the inevitable by fixing it. Oh by the way, the unit he claimed was about $20k!!! I said what?! That’s insane. He then admitted their mark up is a significant portion of the cost (like duh!). He said someone would call us to provide options on next steps without ever fixing the problem (they never called back probably because they knew I wasn’t dumb enough to go for the $20k replacement).

I called another company and they fixed the issue in about an hour for $350. They also said there was no cracks on the unit and the “rust” was superficial and not a concern. As suspected, Ongaro seemed to want to take advantage of what one might assume an unsuspecting female they obviously thought could be scared into making an outrageous purchase. Everything about this interaction with Ongaro felt manipulative and dishonest. Do better!! If you do the right thing consistently you earn the customer.

Ongaro and Sons installed a tankless water heater for us, and everyone from the Mike in sales, to Tony doing the pre-visit, to Omar and Zach installing the water heater, were professional and nice. Omar and Zach were so careful to keep things clean and organized, and the new water heater opened up so much room in our closet! Really great experience and would recommend.

We had a sump pump under our rental installed by Zach and Felipe. What professionals and fabulous work they did. Absolutely care about everything being precise and fitting perfectly. They have gone above and beyond our expectations. We are not easily impressed but these two gentleman did a superb job. We watched the whole process and were amazed at every little detail they made sure was correct. Would hands down recommend Ongaro and Sons and definitely these two men. Very kind and personable. Thank you Zach and Felipe for a perfect job.

Best HVAC company in Sonoma Co. Our HVAC went out during the earlier Sept '22 heat wave. They arrived promptly, diagnosed the situation and gave a really fair price to fix our unit.

Ultimately we ended up needing a new Furnace as well. Again, they price was really competitive, they installed it and had everything running. Excited to have a new unit for winter!
